My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights over the July 4th holiday. The desk staff were very helpful to us and our stay was very pleasant. When we go to Williamsburg, we are always out and about and are not in our hotel room except to sleep at night. The price for the area was great and the hotel room was very clean. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel room - then this is not the place for you - - - - but if you are looking for a very clean and safe place to sleep while enjoying yourself on vacation - then look no further.

Maybe I'm being too picky, but I was very underwhelmed by this place. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a budget hotel, but I was unhappy with the cleanliness of the place. The room was dank and had an unpleasant odor. The service was good, the pool was nice enough, and the location was very good, but I won't be coming back.

This was our second stay at the Lord Paget. First of all when we arrived they told us they didn't know if our rooms were ready. It was only noon but the place was all but deserted. There were about three cars in the parking lot. Luckily for us the maid spoke up and said the King rooms were clean in the nearby building. The real problem basically lie in the room we received. They were no outlets in the bathroom at all and none available nearby. I must admit I didn't notice until later in the day when I went to do my hair. I found an outlet by the mirror near the door but my hairdryer and curling iron kept falling out of the socket. It was aggravating to say the least. The air wasn't working all that well either but we were in the corner room with afternoon sun coming through the bathroom window. The room was clean and the pool pretty nice on a ninety plus day. I will probably look for another place to stay when on the way to the OBX.

We have stayed at the Lord Paget for many years. If you are looking for a five-star hotel, don't stay at the Lord Paget, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced, quiet hotel, this is the best place. It is an older hotel, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Pool could use a little work, but it's clean. A nice pond where you can relax. Friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to save money. We paid less then $100.00 for two nights.
