“Not A Lot Of Bang For Your Buck”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Ate dinner here with my wife on September 18th, 2012 while we were passing through town.

I had the ham, mozarella and ricotta Calzone. Heavy on the ricotta and light on everything else. Ham was low end, sliced ,deli stuff better suited for making a sandwich. Calzone came with a small side bowl of tomato sauce which was actually the best part of the meal. My wife ordered the clam linguine. Canned clams in a very watery cream sauce. Very bland. The bread served with the meal was a disappointment. Wonder Bread texture in a baguet jacket. Think of lamb in a wolf's skin.

My wife ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Do not make the same mistake. $5 later she received a glass of what tasted like a home-made red wine. We checked the bottle when we left. Ever heard of a vinyard called 'Prince Michel' of Virginia. Well that's what they served her. Very disappointing. Service was adequate if not enthusiastic.

Windows need a good cleaning but you wouldn't believe how much parking the restaurant had available. Maybe you would.

“A Mixed Bag”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

My wife and I had dinner at Scotto's tonight for the first time. The salad was very good with their homemade peppercorn ranch dressing. The tomato sauce for the veal parmigiana was very tasty, and the cheese cooked nicely. However, the veal itself was a bit tough. My wife's Veal Oscar was extremely bland. We asked for some basil and oregano to be brought to the table to spice it up. It helped, but not much. The bread was not bad - fresh, but not a lot of flavor. The wine list needs expanding - especially wines by the glass for which there are only about six options. The windows need to be cleaned on the outside: there are dead bugs on the outside sill which is unappetizing. The service is pretty good - friendly and efficient. It is strange that there are candles on the table, but they are only lit upon request. Finally, the paper napkins just don't fit a nice restaurant like this - they need linen. So, a mixed bag overall.

“good food in a basic package”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

This place has been newly renovated, so I can't imagine what it looked like before it's "update." The chairs are plastic, the tables basic. The food, however, was very good and the portions were large. My dessert was frozen, however, and it shouldn't have been. A bit of a let-down at the end of the meal.
