“Outstanding Retreat at the Middleton Inn”

My organization held a three day Retreat in the lovely little town of Washington and used the Middleton as our headquarters. We found the accommodations warm and inviting, the service outstanding, and the food delicious! Mary Ann Kuhn, the innkeeper, made a special effort to accommodate our unique needs, from helping us to find a location for a yoga class and wreath making to making dinner reservations and sharing information on local hiking options. We found the Middleton to be a perfect venue for enjoying all that Rappahannock County and the Blue Ridge have to offer and would definitely return.

Middleton Inn

My wife and I were attending a wedding in the area and the Middleton Inn was highly recommended. We are not B&B people, but our choices were limited in the rural area of Little Washington, VA so we booked our room for two nights. Well, we were more than pleasantly surprised! This is not your typical B&B vacation; this is a luxurious stay at a country estate! When booking, we had our choice of a room in the main house or a separate cottage; we chose the cottage...beautiful. Our cottage had two levels with a large roomy bathroom, small kitchen area, everything we could want and a fireplace! It even had its own little fenced in front yard where we enjoyed some wine and the magnificent view of sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains sitting on large comfortable lawn chairs.
The proprietor and staff were fantastic and attended to our every need and request. Breakfast was also fantastic-do not miss it and do not let the term "B&B" fool you, as it did us, we would recommend this property to anyone. It is elegant and refined yet at the same time warm and welcoming.

My husband and I stayed at the Middleton Inn in Washington, VA recently and cannot help but smile every time we think of it! Mary Ann Kuhn, the proprietor, is as gracious, warm and welcoming as her inn is and that is no small feat. The inn is set on a hill with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The rooms of the inn are immaculate and beautiful having all the amenities one would want. We slept so soundly on wonderful linens and enjoyed our elegant surroundings before having coffee on the front porch. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are delicious. If you have any dietary concerns the staff happily makes sure all of your requirements are met and if you want a special favorite, it will appear on the table. Upon checking in Mary Ann asked if there was anything in particular we wanted with our morning meal and my husband half joking, half seriously said "lots of bacon!". Well the next morning, along with our omelets, we had a perfectly cooked mountain of bacon brought to our table!
We look forward to our next of many visits back to the Middleton Inn and highly recommend it!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our weekend at the Inn - what a relaxing time! Breakfast was wonderful and unique each day and we loved taking coffee on the front porch before breakfast with the paper and view of the mountains. From afternoon lemonade with a book on the back porch and a cat in the lap to wine and cheese before dinner on the town - we could not have been more relaxed! Our sincere thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

“Great Place to Stay”

Middleton Inn

The Inn is a quiet, beautifully restored property and Mary Ann Kuhn is a gracious inn keeper. She and her small staff serve a wonderful breakfast in the large sunny dining room. The rooms are immaculate and the large shower in each roomis a great amenity. Porches front and back over good views and a great place to relax. My husband and I rarely stay anywhere other than hotels, but our experience at the Middleton Inn was so enjoyable I am sure we will try inns more frequently in the future.
