“Not worth going out of your way for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Best bbq? Really? Not even in the same league as mediocre places in Kansas City or Austin. Pulled/chopped pork was good, but ribs were average at best. Though sides are not the focus, the coleslaw was straight from a 5 gallon bucket. Price and portions are fine, and yes the men's room is gross.

“Still in Love.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Well following my own previous advice, I stopped at BBQ Country on the way home from the Virginia Highlands Festival in Abingdon. I had been driving for over three hours and held out to stop here for a bite. Just walking in this place gives you a BBQ high.... But the food is still excellent, you get a lot for just a few dollars and the workers are very friendly and accommodating. GO!!

“Yummy ribs and bbq”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

I will admit, this place looks plenty scary from the outside, and a little bit so from the inside! We stopped for dinner on a Monday night, and were the only CAR parked there. Plenty of big rigs! The inside is not the most clean, but, and I cannot believe I am saying this, it is worth it for the food! I got the ribs and baked beans and they were amazing. So tender and flavorful. My daughter got a bbq sandwich, which is probably the better deal. They just took out a rack of ribs and began chopping with this crazy big knife, and voila, bbq :) So...be brave and venture inside and you will be very happy and full when you leave!

“Don't miss BBQ Country!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

As you travel south on Rt 29 out of Warrenton, check out this great BBQ joint in Opal!
The pulled pork is awesome, delicious sauce and great slaw!!
The prices are the unbelievable, so chow down and enjoy!!
The brothers that run the place are fun to chat with and fast on filling orders as the place was busy on a Holiday.

“Best BBQ anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Most people will pass by this bbq restaurant at the Opal truck stop. Don't be most people. They have award winning chicken, ribs, pork, etc. It is all cooked/smoked over an open pit. The sausage is a rare find. I recommend the chicken with spicy sauce. If you have a dog, ask for a bone.
