Faang Thai Restaurant is in the Warrenton Shopping Center, next to Honeybaked Ham Co. & Cafe. We had some trouble finding it since it is on the opposite side of the "main" shopping center, which includes Chipotle and El Agave.
The restaurant's decorations were nothing special, but I noticed immediately the place was very clean. The restaurant was packed with people dining in and taking food to go. We opted to sit at tables in the bar area.
The hostess and server were attentive and friendly. I did get the wrong dish, but our server fixed the problem quickly and was nice about it. For dinner, my husband ordered the Lemongrass Soup and Papaya Salad with Grilled Shrimp. He thought both dishes were delicious and authentic (as Thai food can be in the U.S.). I had the Chili Basil Beef. Very few vegetables to speak of, but there was a lot of beef. Overall, it was very good.
On the menu spicy dishes were marked as "American spicy" with one chili pepper or "Thai spicy" with two chili peppers. I found this classification to be absolutely accurate. The Chili Basil Beef was listed as "Thai spicy" and it was very spicy. If you can't handle "real" Thai spicy be sure to let your server know.
We enjoyed the food and service. We plan on going back the next time we pass through Warrenton.
