“New and nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Although I guess this hotel is not brand new, it certainly feels like it. Completely spotless throughout, it was thoroughly comfortable, convenient and quiet. It has all the modern amenities plus some, including a spacious room, microwave/refrigerator in room, flat screen tv and DVD player, plenty of conveniently located outlets and usb ports and good internet bandwidth. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choice and was well and frequently replenished. Coffee and tea available 24/7. Will definitely be my top choice should I travel that way again.

We stayed here exactly 2 years ago and I posted a glowing review after that visit. I'm happy to report that our latest stay was just as great as the previous one. Again we opted to spend the night here after dinner at the Inn at Little Washington (which is 20 minutes away). This Hampton Inn is really exceptional. From the lobby to the halls and the rooms everything is so clean, smells good and is orderly. The receptionist in the lobby greeted us warmly. The staff is really friendly, and just like the previous stay we were called when we got to the room and asked if it was all right. Even the maids were super friendly. This place is just so clean -- I am a germ/dirt freak and I could not find fault with one single thing.

Breakfast was really nice, lots of comfy seating and a nice selection of breakfast items.

The beds were so comfortable, especially the pillows. I am now trying to find out how to purchase one of their pillows. And even the Waterpik showerhead was so great I want to buy one of them too. Loved that they have a long shower stall instead of the normal bath tub and they even have a small shelf for the ladies to put their foot on while shaving their legs.

This hotel is really quit nice. The staff is also great, and yes we were also offered a bottle of water, not only at our arrival, but also at our departure.
We didnt only stay here on our way to Richmond, but also on the way back home.

Typical Hampton Inn with a crucial exception...the young staff is just amazing! They offered cold bottled water upon arrival and departure. One girl was on the phone while I checked out with another gal. The gal on the phone paused her phone conversation to say goodbye to me. What great customer service. I almost did not want to leave because they were so genuine...lol.
The area is beautiful...great location near shopping! Comfy bed, large flat screen with DVD player.

This hotel is fairly new, so everything was is good condition. The service was friendly and professional. Our room was very clean, bright, and tastefully decorated. The rooms have a small refrigerator, microwave, and a one cup coffee maker. I've read that the refrigerator and window unit AC noises were bothersome to other reviewers, but to us, the convenience of having these appliances outweighed the minor noises. (especially if you're staying for longer than one or two nights) The hotel offers free breakfast, a gym, and a heated indoor pool.

This hotel is conveniently located near lots of stores and restaurants, some within walking distance.

Only negatives.....the bed was hard, and the pillows are the air filled type that flatten as soon as your head hits them.....no matter how many you pile up.

For the price, the Hampton Inn offers a lot. We'd definitely stay again.

I travel alot & stay in Hamptons often. Clearly this is one of the better ones. Great location, unusually friendly staff, quiet, safe, unusually clean. I stayed here four nights last week, met several of the housecleaning staff & don't give the guy with the "roach motel" & lost earrings any credibility. It just isn't like that. Its my third stay there & I highly recommend it!
I like to run, & for those that do, you can run up the hill about a mile, be in old town, then go over the hill to the depot, where there is a wonderful running trail. I wouldn't do it at night, as there are some old houses with some loitering, but safe enough in daytime.

Room Tip: They're all quiet & the hotel is unusually well situated. If a light sleeper, you might ask...
