This hotel must have been hosting a reality show-called Stay at your own risk. Upon entering the room, it looked clean, but that was deceiving. The beds were horrible. We went out and bought sheets so we would not have to touch the ones there. we turned the air off so that we would not have to use the blankets. We used our clothes instead. And let's not even mention the pillows. Once you open the fold out bed, it was a nightmare. upon letting out the sofa bed, the smell of dirt was too much. After buying cleaning supplies, linens, paper plates, cups, eating utensils, we could have stayed home. We did not touch the 2 odd pans, 1 plate, 3 forks, and oh yea, a water pitcher, for no reason at all. When entering and leaving the hotel you did not know what to expect each time. You did not feel safe upn entering or leaving. Cars and people meeting in parking lot and leaving-this was constant. Many people hung aroung outside the lobby
especially at night. This hotel must turn into a club at night because of the noise and the intoxicated people coming and going at all times of the night. My daughter would not even lay down because of the noise. It was just that loud and clear. We could no longer take it and checked out in the middle of the night. While waiting for the elevator, which only holds 3-4 people, 2 very intoxicated men came up and said we will ride up and then go back down, which meant my daughter and I would be the only ones on the elevator with them so we held hands to run fast and together down the stairwell while holding our breath because of the smell. The entryway to our room and the stairwell made you think there was an outside toilet somewhere. The noise and loitering at night, out side the rooms was horrible.

I stayed there this past weekend (5.12.07) and it was dirty, nasty, filthy, and all of the things people have said here are true! There were people just standing around everywhere with apparently nowhere to go and it did not seem as if they were guests. The room was dirty, molded and nasty. There was only one elevator and the only other option was to take the stairs, which you had to hold your breath to go up or down. The smell of urine permeated the hallways and stairwell. If you leave your rooms you are constantly confronted with the various people milling around and don’t even think about getting any sleep! As soon as it gets dark this hotel comes to life and as the evening goes on it get LOUDER! We checked out at 2:00 am and passed at least 10 people milling in the lobby, the stairs and elevator were full of drink, high and random people just going from floor to floor! It was a nightmare and if I would have come to this site before booking I would have known this for myself. The people writing the good reviews have to either work for the hotel, or are one of the people that “hang” there for no apparent reason!

My sisters and I booked a room Mother's Day weekend thinking we were going to have a nice relaxed get-a-way. We had the total opposite. The room was so dirty and old smelling that we did not want to sit down or take our shoes off. We felt like we were in a good will store. We went out and bought lysol and our own sheets just so we could lay down at night (we refused to sleep on the sheets and blankets provided in fear of bed bugs). There is one very slow and small elevator which indeed smelled like urine as did the stairway. We felt like it was a hangout spot and it became apparent at 2:00 in the morning that it was. It sounded like there was a party going on that included everyone but ourselves. Between the noise and no one being able to sleep due to our allergic reactions to the dust, we decided at 2:30 in the morning that we could not take it anymore, packed our belongings and left. This was indeed the worst place any of us have ever stayed. We would not recommend it to anyone.

ok, but NOISY NOISY NOISY! Not for families
Found their coupon in roomsaver.com magazine. Stayed at their sister hotel 1st night, friendly staff but way to small and beat up. I was packing to leave and they recommended their sister hotel the Marjac. Room much bigger, new carpet, new painting, updating the building I guess for the summer season. but I got no sleep, the partys went on all night long. The last night we asked the manager to tell the other room to be quiet (3:30 am!) but they told the manager to go to h___. So my dh called the police and that worked.
also, teens hang around the lobby loitering. Daytime is ok but when the starts to set and the street lights come on so do the car bom boxes and all the other freaks. From inside the hotel at night with the wind wisteling through the windows and doors at night and the yelling and screams from the partiers it sounds like the sounds of hell.

I had the opportunity to stay here with my wife and 2 young boys on our first Virginia Beach Vacation. We checked in late the first night with little to no energy left after 8 hours of driving. After seeing the appearance of the hotel, dealing with someone at the front desk who must have hated me in a previous life and the condition of our room, I found a renewed energy level. After using the only, extremely slow elevator, we concluded that it must be used during the night as a public lavatory. Our room included at no extra charge, ripped carpeting and sofa cushins, leaking faucets, outlets pulled out from walls, tiles missing in the bathroom, kitchen cabinet doors missing, odds and ends of rusty pots, silverware and plastic cups, non functioning safe and an overwhelming stench. Stains on the public ironing board looked like it had DNA deposits. At this point, I started looking for the yellow crime tape. We stayed that evening and after disinfecting the family at the hospital the next day, found another hotel and continued our vacation. Rating this hotel 2 stars is an overstatement by at least 3 stars. This place should have been torn down 10 Years ago.
