We stayed one night on April 27, 2013 in a Club level room on the 20th floor with ocean views. The hotel is very nice, fairly new furnishings and modern looking. The parking and front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The private club level lounge is well stocked with sodas, water, plenty of snacks and a very friendly and helpful concierge. While there were some minor issues with our rather expensive room, none would keep me from coming back to this hotel.
Our room had a king size bed that was very, very comfortable. One of the best beds we’ve ever stayed on in a hotel. Our room had a balcony that had southern ocean views and southern views of Atlantic Ave. The bathroom had plenty of marble counter space, and a large tiled shower with dual shower heads. The TV in the room was a large (48”) flat screen powered by Direct TV. Our only minor complaint was the carpet – there were several snags in the carpet that were coming undone. Also, the dual shower heads in the bathroom did not really add to the shower experience as they are hard to adjust.
Parking in Virginia Beach can be tough – but the Hilton is across the street from a public parking garage with a covered walkway bridge from the second level of the garage to the second floor of the hotel. For club level rooms, parking was free, but normally it’s $8 per day. Valet parking is available for $25 per day.
There are two restaurants at the hotel, Catch 31, and Salacia. Both have outdoor seating with ocean views. We ate at Salacia on 4/27 see my separate review.
We enjoyed our stay and I would, and plan to, return in the near future.
