“Our new timeshare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Just changed our timeshare from Boardwalk to Oceanaire & had a studio exchange to use up so we checked out our new place. Very happy with decision to upgrade to Oceanaire. even though we went from two bed lockout to one bedroom. Studio was much larger than we had before. Disappointed it had two full size beds not a queen but not the end of the world. Nice, clean room with beautiful views-oceanfront. Kitchenette had all the dishes we needed, good size micro.

The 21 & over pool & spa were great. Firepits outside pool & on 10th floor sundeck very nice. Martini lounge looked nice. Pools in sister building great for whole family. Fitness center in sister building was one of the best we have used. Not hard to workout with those awesome views. Grounds & buildings are beautiful. Staff was very friendly.

Not crazy about the parking a block away or that there isn't a full restaurant in the building. However there are restaurants within walking distance. Would have liked a mid-week changing of the towels. Also one of the elevators wasn't working which made for longer wait time to get up & down.

Overall the Oceanaire was better than expected. Can't wait to use our regular week there. Sure we will be very happy. We would recommend this resort. But as other people have said do your homework to see if this resort works for you.

Room Tip: Parking is a block away so if you have walking issues like I do make sure to plan for it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I wished it was longer! The property was beautiful. The man at the front desk was very informative and greeted us the next day by name. To me, that simple gesture meant a lot. We stayed in an ocean view one bedroom suite. It mostly had a view of the street from the balcony but that didn't really bother me. We literally walked out of the hotel and onto the boardwalk and beach. The bed itself wasn't the most comfortable I've been on but not a deal breaker. The room also had a full kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, and coffeemaker; a small dining room table and a living room with tv (bedroom has a tv as well). If I had stayed longer, I would've cooked a couple meals in that awesome kitchen. Overall, I would definitely stay here again hopefully for a lot longer!
Tip: Pocahontas is right across the street, amazing breakfast! And the parking garage the hotel uses is right around the corner. $10/day

VA Beach was our halfway stop northbound. This hotel was appealing online because of the renovations done and pictures. When arrived, parking attendants were great but walked into a very dark yet modern establishment. Check in went ok till reached our hotel room. Our room was down a small corridor. Could not even see where the key went to open door. No lights in our section of hallway. When we opened the door, the room while had an ocean view was extremely cramp and smelled. The BEDS WERE box spring and were HORRIBLE/UNCOMFORTABLE to sleep in for two nights. Our room also connected to another one next door. Did not like that for privacy reasons. Would have been ok if family was staying on other side but not with strangers. We also heard everyones conversations on all sides and all hours of night. Walls are extremely thin and found it intolerable hearing sounds such as moving furniture around well into the early hours. Not great when traveling with young children. My biggest pet peeve happened when our neighbors blew a fuse at 11:30 pm and management called our room, woke us up after a 10 hour car ride, to seek permission to access the shared fuse box in our room to switch the breaker back on. We did not like that at all. Thought extremely inconvenient and inconsiderate. Discovered immediately afterwards when complained that all rooms are jointly set up that way. No way to switch. If I didn't have another 10 hour ride to drive ahead of us, I would have left right then to go home instead of stay overnight.

POOLS were fine and outside property was really nice and had direct beach access. THE OTHER NEGATIVE WAS THE CONTINUOUS FLY-OVERS MADE DIRECTLY OVER THE COMPLEX BY F-16s PLANES GOING TO AND FROM THE NEAR BY AIR BASE. I felt like I was on the air deck all the time. How can anyone relax poolside or on beach with that. The good thing was that the flight pattern ended at dark. Will definitely never go back to VA BEACH and certainly not to this hotel.

Thank you Alisa P for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Oceanaire. We apologize for the concerns you experienced during your stay and hope to clarify a few. From your review, we determined that you stayed in our Deluxe Double Bed Studio, which is our smallest room type on property and always connects to a larger unit (generally a one bedroom; which when combined makes a 2 bedroom). Due to the design of the property as condos, breaker switches are located in the studio unit and occasionally, when not rented together, we must seek permission to enter the unit to return power. We apologize for that inconvenience and do our best to fix the concern quickly and with minimal interruption. We do rent much larger units including one and two bedrooms and certainly suggest renting those if you are looking for space, additional privacy, or a full kitchen. Also, the mattresses at Oceanaire are the same ones used at major hotel chains around the world and we do have items to either soften or harden the mattresses to our guests preferences. These items are available upon request at any time.

Lastly, much of the city of Virginia Beach is under Oceana Naval and Air Station’s flight paths. Virginia Beach is proud to home several large military installations but we do understand the noise can be distracting, especially if one was unaware or if it is unexpected.

Thank you again for your feedback regarding your stay and your review of Oceanaire and Virginia Beach. We hope the remainder of your trip was enjoyable.

Very hip place but kid friendly. Excellent view. We were there for seven days and the hospitality was always great. Even with the cold weather we were able to enjoy the heated pool on a relaxed day :)

I spent 6 nights here and am about to leave tomorrow. It was a pleasant vacation in late March to early April with a mixture of chilly winter temperature and warm spring weather.
This hotel has a great location and has upscale facilities, spacious rooms, and friendly staffs. There are not as many amenities available except the pools, but having the beach right outside the hotel, it was not a big problem for us. I invited a family of 3 for one night to stay with us and we (4 adults & 4 young kids) could accommodate well in the 2 bedroom unit. We had rooms with fantastic ocean view and all LOVED the hotel that we surely wanted to come back.
As we are wrapping up today, I only wanted to add a comment here for any future guests who are planning to stay here. Just like other reviewers already mentioned, the parking garage is not directly on site. If you have little children, you will have to know that you should cross the street with them every time you want to get to the car, or send out a person to bring the car and wait at the main entrance where valet staffs will ask why or how long you are standing there.
If you are one of the hotel goers who don't mind extra housekeeping during your short stay, pass this on. For those of you who come as exchange guest for longer period of time, beware that this hotel does NOT offer daily housekeeping for free. You have to request a cleaning service for additional charge by filling up the request form that is stuck on the fridge. The units in this resort do NOT have laundry machines in each unit, nor do they offer free washing/drying for timeshare exchange guests. The machines are located on every other level, and each washing or drying cycle costs 2 dollars. You can ask for coin change at the front desk, if needed. We had three young boys and needed lots of washing, so this was a major problem for us since (1) we never expected to pay for this, and (2) we wanted to wash our towels everyday that it doubled our washing costs as daily new towels were not included in the stay.
This hotel also provides free Wifi service, but the signal is terribly weak and unstable. My husband and his friend who stayed for the night were both major developers in network security field, but both gave up figuring out how to increase the stability for me. The rooms, however, do have ethernet outlet, so it is a great idea to bring your own ethernet cable to connect your device to the wall. Once you get connection through the wall, you get a nice and stable internet connection.
Except for some of these flaws, this hotel/resort was a great place to stay. I can definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

I recently attended a meeting at Oceanaire, and wish to compliment the Front Drive on their upbeat greetings and excellent team work. As soon as our meeting let out, several cars were already lined up for us, avoiding long waits. It makes a great impact to be greeted by people with smiles - clearly were enjoying their job!!!
