The Atrium Resorts. I read the reviews and said no, it can't be bad. I received a one bedroom unit from a friend not using their timeshare. Upon arrival, I had to locate the clerk to check me in which took about 5 minutes. Located room after wating for a SLOW elevator (they have one). Entered room and noticed the furnishings are not only old, but very dirty. The stand in the bathroom was very chipped as was the stove. The chair and carpet needed a good cleaning. The faucet leaked, which I didnt find out until after my makeup bag was completely soaked, but placed a towel behind it each morning to avoid wetting entire floor.

Laundry room - 2 washers/1 dryer - dryer was broken the entire stay, and a note was finally put on it on the 4th day stating they were waiting for a part. Pretty dusty, but washers new and did the job.

Activities- what we did do on the activities offered thru the resort ended up being a total rip off. Wine tasting offering margaritas for $5 ended up being $12 a piece. Was refunded by the resort, but still a hassle to go 12 blocks in 98 degree heat.

TV's left a lot to be desired. Very small and cable snowy many times throughout the stay.

Have photos and will post after downloading.

Overall, I give the resort a 2, its older, not far from the beach, but leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely needs a makeover and bigger pool.

The hotel classifies itself as a "Resort". I'm not sure what they were thinking. Resorts generally offer some sort of ammenities. The atrium offers nothing. I will give you the location was convient to the beach, but that is all. The rooms were outdated, we were put in a smoking room after requesting a non smoking and when we requested to be relocated they told us they had nothing else available. They have no balconies so we had to leave our door open to air out the room. if accommadations are somewhat important to you, DO NOT pick this location, if not, your on your own and don't say you were not warned.

Before reserving this hotel, I looked online and saw several bad reports of this hotel and did not heed the warnings. The comments ragarding lack of service and the staff were numerous but I thought they had more to do with the "busy" season and being stretched in too many directions to believe it for myself. I visited the "resort" (and I use that term loosely) in March, the NOT busy at all season. Well, the heat in our room did not work even though maintenance came in and "charged" it. There was a huge gap between the wall and the dishwasher which caused a frigid draft and the faucet did not close all the way so it continously leaked. The phone was never activated despite my having told the front desk that I had to keep calling from my cell phone. To top this experience all off, there was a power shortage and we had to move ourselves and 3 young children at 10pm at night to another resort. Never once did we receive an apology for the inconveience and even asking for a flashlight to get a change of clothes for the next day became an ordeal. Needless to say I was disgusted by this hotel. I hope someone will heed MY warning and not make the same mistake I made by not paying attention to the reviews. Thanks.

I don't understand why the word resort is in the name. Upon entering the lobby, I looked up to see floors that looked like the prisons that you see on TV. The atmosphere was not attractive at all. The room looked circa 1970 and the door ws not secure (I closed it and was able to open it without a key on one occasion). The bedding was very thin for this time of year, and I had a stiff neck from the thin to non existant pillows. The television in the living area kept losing signal in the middle of some of our favorite programs. I would have given this hotel a 1/4 of a star, but the rating only allows for a 1 star minimum. Not worth paying over $100!!!!

This resort has 6 floors and is perfect for someone that doesn't want to be in a high rise resort. The suites are very spacious, and clean with nice amenities such as VCR, two televisions, and a dishwasher in the kitchens. There are onsite internet & computers to use in the lobby as well as Video tape rentals, an excercise room, tanning bed and of course an indoor pool and jacuzzi. The only negative experiences I had were run-ins with two employees, lastly an outdoor work crew got starfoam pieces all over the parking garage which blew all over everyone's car but I didn't let those experiences ruin my vacation. I would definitely stay at this resort again.
