its a nice boardwalk free of all the ordinary shops and eateries i am accustomed to elsewhere. i love the separate bike path as it keeps the congestion down.

“Love the views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011 via mobile

Love the boardwalk....enjoy walking up and down....day and night, stopping for a drink at the local bars. Great for girl watching and if you are a female guy watching too i guess. Only real issue i have are the idiots riding bikes and skateboard way too fast....my 2 year old almost got hit. There are signs everywhere saying they are prohibited but never ssee the police do anything...overall i love it.

“ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2011

I was not impressed by this. How can one call it Boardwalk when there aren't any wooden planks? Jersey shore, NJ and Ocean City, MD have Boardwalks not this cemented road. No ice cream, funnel cakes, fries, games, rides, popcorn, etc.....It was a boring walk. one comfort station for the entire lenght of the so call boardwalk is crazy.

“Love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2011

We love Virginia Beach!! The Boardwalk is the best part of the trip. It is very clean. There is a lot to do. You can walk the Boardwalk without getting run over by bikes because they have their own path. There are plenty of benches to sit on and watch the beach, people, and ocean. It is very peaceful but active as well. There are bike rentals available, shops and restaurants right off the boardwalk. It is just the best part of the trip!!

“Virginia Beach's main attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

Boardwalk (well, really a paved pathway rather than an Atlantic City type boardwalk) is clean, well maintained, very attractive. We stayed a few blocks down from the King Neptune statue, which is really amazing. Even though it was a few weeks pre-season, there were concerts on the sand and vendors, etc. The city did a great job creating the boardwalk area.
