Had a great time. Location was perfect for us. Being on the beach and close to fascinating museums worked out well. Chix restaurant next door had a nice atmosphere and good food. The breakfast in the morning was perfect.

I booked twelve rooms at this hotel for my kid's soccer team. Due to the excessive amount of rain the city pulled the field use permits and the tournament was canceled. Our booking agent used over 30 hotels for this event and most agreed to return the room deposits, this hotel would not. The manager was unwilling to issue refunds, reduce the fees or even change the dates for a family willing to come a different weekend. There are lots of places to spend your money in Virginia Beach but I would advise avoiding this one.

Booked our room (total of 12 rooms for our soccer team) for a Columbus Day Soccer tournament. Because of the rotten weather in VA Beach this week the City of Virginia Beach canceled the entire tournament. The hotel was very willing to cancel our rooms but would not budge on the 72 hour cancelation policy. So we're stuck paying the full fare. Sure would have been nice and reasonable to offer some sort of refund or credit for another night since this was completely a result of what the City of VA Beach and not our own doing.

The hotel is located near the south end of Virginia Beach. While it is older, it was perfect for our needs. The restaurant attached is just okay, however, the breakfast was better than expected. Would stay again for the price.

Room Tip: The staff was very nice. The hallways are narrow and hot. Be aware there is a naval air station ne...

Aug 2013: My wife and I are in our late sixties, retired and living in upstate NY. It's a long trip to Virginia Beach from where we live so this was our first visit to this very popular area and we didn't have a clue where to stay. We always look for ocean-front, but with a limited budget that's not so easy. We planned on a two day visit and then on to the Outer Banks so we budgeted around $300 a night. Searching the internet we found the website for Quality Inn & Suites Oceanfront which appeared to just what we were looking for. However all that glitters is not gold.
The check-in went well enough, seemed like a pleasant staff, but things went downhill from there. The hallway to the elevator was narrow and shabby, barely wide enough for our bag caddy and just enough room for a guest to squeeze by. The hallway carpet was wet and sandy and the wall paper on the walls was stained and dated. The elevator was small and scary old. Everything was outdated and beat up in need of a complete overhaul. Our room on the third floor was definitely not a suite, just a standard hotel room with a king sized bed and just as worn out as the rest of the hotel. We were too tired from over ten hours on the road and didn’t feel like going down and fighting for a suite. On the plus side the view from our small balcony was very nice.
As we were unpacking we heard a very loud roar that we couldn’t identify and then again few minutes later another loud roar. It turned out that our hotel was on the glide path for Navy fighter jets landing at NAS Oceana, and the jets kept coming all day long. They shut down flight ops over the hotel about 10PM so at least the late night time hours were quiet.
We enjoyed one good dinner the night we arrived and a terrible dinner on our second and last day. I will review those restaurants the MahI Mah’s (4 stars) and Chix (1 star) in the restaurant reviews. Granted a two day stay is not a conclusive argument but in our short stay we decided that Virginia Beach is definitely for the younger crowd, not a place for peace and quiet.

I truly do not understand how this place has such good reviews. There were only three positives: the guy who checked us in was super nice, our housekeeper was very patient with us, and the view from the balcony was wonderful. Otherwise, I couldn't get out of there soon enough.

The place is just plain old. A few things have been updated here and there, but it still seems like the place is stuck in the sixties. The bathrooms are minuscule and having two people try to get ready at the same time required a lot of creativity and bumping into each other. Definitely don't stay here with anyone you're not very comfortable with.

The air conditioner in our room obviously had mold or some other unpleasant substance in it, because my boyfriend and I began sneezing and snotting as soon as we turned it on. We had to keep it off the entire weekend, so we'd have died if it had been any warmer outside. Speaking of warm, the hallways to the rooms are all glass and they're not air conditioned. Prepare to bake while waiting for the elevator if you stay here. Our bathroom had visible mold on the ceiling around the fan and on the little card on the door that explains the laws on hotels in Virginia. We found several different kinds of hair in the sheets. My socks needed bleaching because the bottoms turned such a dark shade of brown after walking on the carpet in the room.

We had the misfortune of being on the south side of the hotel, right next to a little stage for live music. It was loud enough for us to perfectly hear every beat and word of every song, despite having the doors closed. It did end around 11:00, but if we had kids or needed to be asleep early, that would have been a major problem.

Finally, I didn't try the breakfast buffet, but my boyfriend said what he had was largely inedible. This place may have the best price, but, if you ask me, it wasn't worth it.

I'm not a beach person but have stayed at several beach hotels. A lot of them seem to have those tile floors easy to hose down, and they go cheap on amenities since they figure everyone is at the beach. Not the case with the Quality Inn. I went with a beach lover for the Verizon Music Festival, and we had a blast! Wonderful access to the bands, great outdoor pool, and clean rooms. Staff was super friendly, too. Wifi is great, and they have breakfast. The ocean is right at your doorstep, and you can see it from the balconies.

Went with a group, and it was this or the cheaper Flagship Hotel down the street. Stay away from there! It was disgusting. Our place was clean, neat, and close, and we'll be booking there next year. After checkout, we could use the shower and indoor pool across the street if necessary. The staff was so accommodating. Great stay, great sleep, and close to everything.
