“NY Deli in Virginia Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

If anyone has ever been to the NYC area and visited a deli there, then they would be delighted to know we have the next best thing right here in VA Beach. The portions are HUGE and the quality of ther meats do not disappoint. Most items on the menu are perfect for sharing. The corned beef rueben is as good as any in NYC and the potato knish topped with pastrami is to die for. The cheesecakes and all the desserts are awesome if you have room, but beware, those portions are huge as well.

If you like great deli style food, without having to go to NYC, then The Route 58 deli is the place to go. You will not be disapponted.

“Good Eating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Come hungry. Followed after the same deli in New jersey, two can eat from one sandwich. I had the salmon & bagel dish....would be lying if I didn't say I was expecting more. Especially, since I was looking at the size of deli sandwiches being made. It was still delicious!

“Best sandwich in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Best corned beef reuben around! Easily comprable with any top NY deli, and I'm a New Yorker. You wont be disappointed. I recommend getting one sandwich and sharing.

“Let's cut the portions down along with the prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

My family visited this restaurant because it was the highest rated deli in Virginia Beach and we don't have any real delis where we live. I ordered the same Sailor Sandwich that I had enjoyed in Wiliiamsburg at The New York Deli the week before. It is a pastrami/corned beef/knockwurst combo on rye with Swiss cheese. Route 58's version was huge, so huge that you couldn't really get your mouth around all the ingredients at once. The meat quality was excellent but the eating experience wasn't nearly as satisfying as the previous week. I took 1/2 of it home to eat another day, but it is never as good heated up. It also cost almost twice as much as the other sandwich, so I would be much happier with half the meat and a price tag somewhere closer to $10 instead of $15.

“Good sandwiches with huge portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

I have eaten at route 58 several times and have always liked it. The sandwiches are huge and tasty, and the service has always been great. Highly recommended.
