This was our second stay at The Country Inn & Suites; Norfolk Airport South has been a pleasant stay for a week long vacation to visit our son and daughter in the Navy. Every staff member has been friendly and very willing to meet our needs. The hotel also has a true hot breakfast with eggs, sausage and bacon. The rooms were clean and there were plenty of power outlets for computers and cell phones. The Wi-Fi signal was very strong in our room on the third floor. Once again, it was a very nice stay and we will be our choice in the future.

First time in Virginia Beach for us. Traveling with 3 kids so looking for a comfortable affordable place. Here's the good things:
- Affordable
- Newer building
- Free WiFi internet
- Free parking
- Free hot breakfast (not superb but good)
- There is coffee and fruit available 24 hours in the lobby
- You can borrow books from a small collection in the lobby and USA today is complementary
- There is a Starbucks, Quiznos, Sushi bar and a subs joint just around the corner - walkable
- Rooms are big and beds are comfortable.
- Every room has a refrigerator and a microwave.
- Bathrooms are also big and clean.

Down Sides:
- Not many
- For those who want to be close to the beach, this place is about 20 miles from the boardwalk and 25 miles from Sandbridge.
- We accidentally booked disabled access rooms and when trying to get them changed to regular non-smoking, close to each other (2 rooms), the first person on the phone was not helpful. Said it wasn't possible, hotel was full etc. etc. I immediately got a call back from Hotels.com and was told that the hotel had called them and that they would be able to do it. We got early check in as well (noon) and when we arrived, the place was anything but full. So I was disappointed by the unprofessional, bordering on dismissive, attitude of the first person I spoke with. It all ended well, though, and we got two rooms right next to each other and had no more untoward experiences with the front desk staff.

In summary, if you're not too keen on staying right on the beach front, this is a good choice.

Our stay at this Country Inn & Suites was very enjoyable for our 1 night, mid-week stay. The room was clean and well appointed and the staff we encountered were all very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable and my daughter & I loved all the bathroom counter space - great for 2 ladies trying to get ready at the same time!! We took advantage of the free breakfast and it was quite delicious and the variety of foods offered was extremely satisfying. Not only would I recommend this hotel to others; but I've already booked another stay for later in the year. The next time I'll make sure to use the fitness center & the indoor pool !

Country Inn and Suites is not a luxury hotel. But its a great place to stay...especially for familys. I've stayed at so many and they are all nice, clean, well kept. Some better than others. Housekeepers were very friendly. Stayed here for one night and it was great. Room was very comfortable, service was great. This is the hotel that should be on the beach. Unfortunately, this one is about 16 miles from the beach. If you dont mind the drive (easy highway travel) dont stay at the oceanfront location...stay here. But then again...oceanfront is probably good for singles.

This one had AWESOME breakfast! Bacon, sausage, egg and cheese omlet, (no water in these eggs) waffles, just everything. they even had peanut butter cookies in addition to the chocolate chip.

This Country Inn and Suites has the charm that always brings me back, but not having to travel to get to the beach when I stayed at oceanfront was good too. This one is quite a bit less expensive. I stayed for free because I used points that I had earned. But this one was 28000 points...oceanfront was 44000 points. Guess you gotta decide which is most important to you.
