“would not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

There is a better comfort suites down the road---started to stay here--should of went with my instinct in stopping here---desk clerk acted all chipper and really glorifying the rooms etc--then after registering us I get a key to the room and go check it out--what a dump and lies--I went back down and immediately said to cancel I was not staying there--then she got all hyper--but then cancelled the room and credited us back---even though only there 10 minutes total--stay some where else if you can

We booked a couple of days during the week in September. This hotel was in the low-middle range of hotel costs, so we expected a very basic experience. Everything was much better than that.

Our room was a true suite, with a nice dark bedroom and a wonderful living room overlooking the ocean. The tv had more stations then I could even scroll through. Everything was pretty modern and clean. Wifi worked fine. Furniture on the balcony was a step up from the usual resin chairs.

Staff was very nice. The workout room faces the ocean, which is lovely. The breakfast included eggs, sausage and waffles along with the customary yogurts, bagels, cereals, etc. The pool is on the street side of the hotel and had updated furniture. It is nice because it blocks some of the breeze if it too windy on the beach.

I recommend a room on the 4th floor or higher as the walkways are open and it feels nicer than the enclosed halls below.

The only suggestion I would make to management is to get rid of the syrup, jelly and ketchup at breakfast that contains high fructose corn syrup. No one wants to eat that. Toss out some honey, some salsa, some hot sauce for those of us that avoid too much processing in our foods. Thanks for listening, and thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: See above.

The staff was the best asset of the hotel, particularly Rocky on the night shift. I can’t thank him enough for coming to my rescue when my elderly father wandered off one evening. How he beat the elevator down to the 1st floor from the 10th floor is beyond me. He sprang into action THAT FAST! Peter on the night shift was also a great guy. Very friendly and great sense of humor. Kudos to all of you who made our stay so good.

we stayed at the comfort suites for a mini vacation. this is the second time we stayed here. the first time, they were under renovation, but this time was very nice. we stayed on the 11th floor. the view of the ocean was amazing! I think the first suite we had was a little nicer than the last one, but it was all good! beds are very comfortable, bathroom is very spacious. staff is wonderful and very helpful! would definitely stay again!

Since we are into choice hotels, we decided to get a suite room for our holidays at Virginia Beach. The suite room were awesome. The best part was the sofa bed and 5 of us were so comfortable in the double-bed suite. Since the motel is directly under choice-hotels management, the customer service is awesome. We actually booked 2 rooms, and unfortunately, we checked-into these two rooms and realized that we would more comfortable in a single room. The front desk was so happy to cancel one room and even issue a full refund. You can also get a amazing view of the rising sun right from your patio. Everything is so nearby -eg. the bike rentals are just next to the hotels, the food place is around the corner and much more. You will even enjoy a amazing breakfast with glass windows that give you the view of the beach and the rising sun.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND to people going to Virginia Beach...

Room Tip: Get a suite room above the 4th level for a better view. Get up early around sun rise to have a brea...

We were pleasantly surprised with how wonderful the staff was at the front desk when we were checking in (Peter was especially helpful!). We were sure to ask for a room that wasn't on the 4th floor, and I'm glad they obliged. Other reviews about the elevators being so slow were totally true - this was a major annoyance for the whole trip.

Once in the room, we were SO happy with the decor and space! Our king room was really spacious and well appointed. We were on the fifth floor, so we had a wonderful view of the beach & ocean. My only complaint would be that there was no tub! This made cleaning off our two year old a little challenging, but he had a great time taking his first shower, ha! I wish there were more rods or hooks for towels, too.

We loved being able to walk right to the beach and had so much fun there that we didn't even get a chance to check out the pool.

Ok, so now onto the bad stuff ... The benches directly in front of this hotel seem to be right where huge groups of homeless people sleep & drink beer alllll day & night long. We even witnessed a fist fight, and the next day an emergency team came to wheel one of them away to the hospital. They didn't seem to speak with passers by, but it was still uncomfortable (especially after we saw the fist fight), and not something I wanted around my family.

The hotel is directly next to a stage where they played LOUD music until 11 pm. We were on the complete other end of the building and it was still horrible. By the second night I finally downloaded a white noise app, which helped in getting our son to sleep a little. (Just this fact alone is enough that we'll never stay here again.)

Like I said before, the elevator situation was obnoxious. The walls were paper thin & we could hear conversations & doors opening all night long. The breakfast selection was nice, but the room where it was served was so ridiculously small, we had to take it back up to our room. Don't expect to find a seat after 7:30 am. The cleaning staff seemed to constantly be yelling across the lobby and hallways at each other - it was really unprofessional. We weren't too impressed with the restaurant situation nearby, and ended up walking up the boardwalk closer to the pier for dinners.

Overall, this would have been a great hotel pre-kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids younger than 6-7 or so.

Room Tip: Get to breakfast early (before 7:30) for a table by the window. Bring your own coffee. Avoid staying...

I typically write a review after I get home, but the hotel and staff definitely exceeded my expectations. This hotel is located at 2015 Atlantic Avenue. Upon arrival there was a welcome sign for Karolin and Jacklin at the front desk. The check in went as smooth as ever. The rooms are set up perfectly for a family of 4, with split bedrooms, a middle kitchenette, with a mini refrigerator, microwave and sink. Very reasonably priced!
Each room has a balcony with breathtaking ocean views. They also serve hot breakfast with a pretty decent selection of food options (waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon). Parking is free and conveniently located within minutes of your room in an adjacent parking deck. But what seals the deal is the staff, from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, to the cleaning staff, each and every one is so attention and hardworking! I asked for a good place for us to dine, I walked out for a few minutes, and came back with the front desk gentlemen printing out various restaurant options with directions. A class service, prices are very reasonable, very nice so far!! Wasn't planning on making a return trip to VA Beach, but the Comfort inn and suites definitely going to change that idea!!
