“Very clean, great view, friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

I was very pleased with this hotel! The place was clean and easy to find, there was plenty of parking, the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the pool was nice, easy beach access, great view from the balcony.... it goes on and on. Plus all of the rooms had a recycle bin which I thought was really cool! There is an ocean side restaurant but we didn't have a chance to check it out. Wish we could've stayed longer!

This hotel needs some serious upgrades/tlc. I wore my shoes the entire time when walking inside the hotel room. Also the bathroom was disgusting, upon arriving there was someone else's long hairs on a washcloth. See pictures attached for crud, rust, paint chipping. This hotel is in desperate need of serious elbow grease for me to ever stay again.

We stayed here again for two nights during Spring Break. There was a surprise cold front, but we made the best of it. The price for the hotel is awesome for oceanfront at the beach. We asked for a room change from 2 double to a king. The desk attendant quickly took care of it for us. The pool could be a little bit warmer, but like I said, the cold front was a surprise. Bathrooms are a little bit cramped.

Room Tip: We always ask for the highest floor possible and away from the elevator.

We've stayed here for like the past eight years and its always been great. Last year we made the mistake of trying something new, the Breakers, big mistake! Called The Oceanfront Inn after checking in to the mistake and asked for our "usual" room. It was available and cheaper than usual! Great place and nice staff! Tip: ask for the room on the top floor, there are only two but they are great, private sundeck, and awesome views!

We enjoyed our stay last time at the Oceanfront Inn so we came back for more! Comfortable, affordable, warm indoor pool in the off season (we've never been during the summer) and a very nice attached restaurant. Everything we needed for those last few cold days near the end of March! We didn't 'have' to leave the building, but we did - dressed for winter, we walked the boardwalk, enjoying the crisp ocean air but wishing for springtime! We loved our oceanfront room and our only complaint is that there needs to be some attention to detail - major dust in the corners of the hall and along the edge of our bathtub, windows overlooking the ocean were a bit more grimy than they should have been, even for the rainy/snowy weather we experienced. However, these are minor complaints and our overall experience is so positive that we look forward to our return next winter/spring - perhaps the dusty carpeting in the hall is marked for replacement, as we saw new rolls of carpeting and old carpeting waiting for disposal (that matched our hallway) - new tiles in the lobby and surrounding area look very nice. Certainly an off season bargain and a relaxing place to spend the end of winter!

Room Tip: All rooms appear nice - Pool is quite warm; the "spa" is just a couple of low pressure jet...

We've stayed at the Oceanfront before and found it acceptable, but with a couple small issues--mostly in attention to details relating to the cleanliness of the place.
We again found it overall pleasant. We were greeted pleasantly and booked in with no problems. We noted a couple issues in the bathroom, nothing that a good scrubbing with some attention to the corners wouldn't cure. Other than that the room was good, unlike the last time when there was some dust, that was obviously old, hanging in the room. Not so this time.
The pool also lacks attention to some detail. We saw the maintenance man checking the chemistry, so that's a good thing, but the same items remained on the floor of the pool area for over 36 hours! Does anyone look? Other than that, the pool is generally well maintained and kept pretty clean--even on what had been a very busy weekend.
I suspect that much of what is lacking is the result of the class of help they can get. Our housekeeper did half a job with our room, making the bed and taking the dirty towels; but forgot to replace the towels. That would be the same housekeeping crew that doesn't notice the dust or the accumulation of crud in the corners of the bathroom floor. It's all that attention to detail.
In spite of that, it's a great value and we'll use it again. They hotel is undergoing some maintenance work--tiles being replaced, carpeting redone on some floors--so it's obvious that management does want to keep it in decent shape.

When we first booked this hotel it looked great! Right near the ocean, and having guaranteed view. But it quickly lost stars in our book as soon as we turned the corner and saw our "4 star hotel".
-The people at the desk were very rude, didn't even acknowledge us walking in to check in, then didn't try to keep the conversation going with us.
-It is a lot smaller than the picture shows
-The elevator was very dirty and smelled
-There was hair in the bathtub and on the walls
-People were running down the halls yelling at night
-The hallway smelled like weed, when it was clearly stated it was all non-smoking
-The heat didn't work and we shivered all night
-The fridge also didn't work and our food spoiled and had to be thrown away.
-You could see under the door into the hallway and there was only one lock not 2 like most hotels, this made us not feel safe.
-The blinds didn't fully shut
-Low ceilings
-No warm blankets

Honestly the only thing going for this hotel is the view of the ocean.
