My son and I stayed at this hotel last week, for 2 nights. First of all, someone else in a review said" this is a budjet hotel and you get what you pay for". I disagree. At $160 a night, at least in my sphere of reality, that's not cheap. But, let me get to what I want to say. Yes, it has a lovely view of the ocean & boardwalk and is also quite convenient to all the little shops, etc. However, the first thing I noticed about this hotel when I entered was a ghastly odor in the lobby. This remained for the entire stay. So, I believe that it's something they are quite fond of. The room was adequate. It appeared clean enough (although, I never sleep in any linens, except my own). It had a nice TV and the air conditioner worked just like you would hope for it to work (I've stayed in many a place and the air was either too cold or not cold enough). The bathroom was clean and everything worked. The water pressure was very good in both the sink & tub. Now, for a couple of negatives. For some unknown reason, this hotel must like nasty smells/odors. To get to their indoor pool from inside the hotel, you had to go downstairs. That is something I tried once......I had to hold my nose. It actually smelled like homeless people were living on the stairway. It seems to me, that this hotel never cleans the stairway. Furthermore, it seems obvious that for some people, instead of trying to make it to the bathroom, they decide to urinate in that stairway. THAT WAS REALLY SICKENING!!!. Again, I think to myself I'm paying $160 a night, but I wouldn't be caught dead going to that pool. In fact, I threw away the flipflops I was wearing when I took that little regrettable trip into the stairway from hell. Another thing that happend that I didn't like, was I received a call from someone identifying herself as a "Concierge". She recommended that I stop by her desk to get some discount coupons and info about things to do locally. Well, of course, who wouldn't welcome coupons and insight into things to do. At first, she did cover a few things with me, but her real motives soon became crystal clear. This was a setup for suckering people into "TIMESHARES". Yes, folks! If you stay at this hotel, be careful! Make sure you are strong willed.......because these people will try to wear you down and appear to be giving you a lovely trip to their "TIMESHARES". I know that this can't be an ethical practice. Because they have a captive audience, for the most part, and if they offer it to 100 people, surely based on statistics, they will get at least a 10% return for their efforts. Having said all that, it's not a bad Hotel. I just don't like that little sneaky thing that they do. If they're going to sell TIMESHARES, I believe they need to disclose it instead of pretending to be giving you some nice, helpful information. So, finally, a word to the wise........BE CAREFUL! Otherwise, have a great trip!
