I rented the VIP suite the first week of August for 5 days. The VIP suites are located on the second floor. You can only take the elevator to the right, as the left elevator does not go to the second floor. So we had to push the button several times, send the left elevator up to another floor before finally getting on the right side elevator. The stairs are located to the right and are actually easier if you do not have a ton of suit cases. We used the stairs daily.
Upon entering the room I immediately noticed the sectional couch was disgusting. The green bench couch was even worse. Our son was suppose to sleep on the sectional which is also a pull out sleeper. Upon lifting the cushions I found a sticky substance (maple syrup?) with hair, and food all over. Its obvious housekeeping never looks under there.
I went down stairs and complained and got nothing. Just a blank empty stare, even when I threatened I was going to write a review immediately. The couches, kitchen chairs were beyond disgusting. I had to rent another room next door at the Holiday in for my son. Already I was spending 650.00 a night at the Comfort Inn and another 300.00 a night for the Holiday Inn Express. I rent the bungalow at the Hilton in Marco Island for this amount and it immaculate. I called down for extra sheets to place over the furniture as we did not want to sit on it.
The two bedrooms were clean and presentable. The second bathroom door did not lock, and the second bedroom had no air conditioning. The bedroom also have no windows.
The room view is gorgeous and the hotel is in a great location. We had to park our motorcycles and trailer at another paid parking area as they only allow one vehicle for parking. Our sons car thankfully was at the Holiday Inn Express.
The next morning my husband came back to the room with the manager. The manager immediately removed the kitchen chairs and green couch and replaced them with brand new furniture. The sectional was steam cleaned as best as they could. And a nice gift basket was brought up with goodies. The manager also arranged for 10.00 a day parking for us versus the 40.00 we were paying. He was awesome. The door was fixed, and a fan was brought up for the stuffy second bedroom.
The breakfast is great, the hotel lobby was clean. Its lacking a restaurant and bar. The Holiday Inn suited us for drinks.
I will say upon leaving at 6:30am a clerk came out and yelled at us stating we were dragging our suitcases down the steps. That was not correct. My husband used the elevator and I carried my carry on with me. She was rude and obnoxious but I did not feel like addressing her.
I would recommend this hotel. Management is working hard on addressing problems, you just have to ask for the right person.
