My wife and I always say, what do you want for nothing and you get what you pay for. Well, my wife had points to cash in and we decided to use them at this Sheraton in Va. Beach. The started off very positive when they " upgraded" us to a cabana "suite" . At the front desk they asked if we would be interested in getting 300 bonus points, if we would accept the green program. This , so we thought, as it was explained would mean not changing out the towels. no problem we thought, sure! We then were off to our room, however, the front desk failed to tell us that the cabana's are all the way down in a separate building (attached) far away from the normal rooms. You see, if you get on the elevator and go to a standard floor your room is nowhere to be found. Upon arriving at our "suite" we discovered it was a handicapped room. No biggie, so we thought. That was until we took a shower in the handicapped designed shower. The water never drained.....we had a pool of water in the shower/ toilet area. There had to be a half inch of water. The spare toilet paper roll is ruined and we had to use the towels to keep from getting sopping wet. And we could not use many towels since we were on the green program. Well one nice thing that these suites had was 2 TV's. One analog and one HD. Problem was that the HD TV had no HD.....this is when the service guy came up to our room, removed the bad TV and Installed a new TV for us.....above and beyond the call of duty! That was the service highlight of the two days we stayed there. The second highlight is the breakfast buffet and the fantastic service that accompanied the breakfast. Well done, in fact, I would have given a 2 rating , had it not been for that wonderful breakfast. The view of the ocean was very good. And the pool on the beach side was pretty awesome. My guess is that this place must do a better job in the summer. We were there in April. They are upgrading the parking and the actual building itself. At the end of the day, though, we really did get what we paid for....except that great breakfast!
If they offer an up grade to room 326..... Head for the hills.

By choosing our green initiative program our guests do opt out of having the room serviced for the day, however we are always looking to make our guests happy so we do apologize for the condition of the drain in your bathroom. Thank you for pointing out that flaw; it is something that we had fixed. Our cabana section is also new and is separated from the rest of the hotel to allow for a more relaxing environment, as it only houses our suite style rooms. Thank you for pointing out the defects in that design, it may be more efficient if we informed guests that this is the case, and it is something we will look into implementing into our system. We appreciate your comments on the great work that our maintenance team did for you as well as the amazing meal you had in our restaurant, Fusion. We would be delighted to have you back.
