“Good location but very poor service and dirty room...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2010

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel during our summer vacations and we were very disapointed with the service especially with the "housekeeping service". I put some brackets because I never see that especially within the Hilton Family Hotels : room was dirty, housekeeping do only the minimal service. I've just claimed to the Hampton Customer Service and we will see how the will react...

First time to V. beach with our kids ranging from 4-14. We liked the hotel! it was new, well decorated, featured a swimming pool and hot tub and each room had a balcony.

The location to the beach was perfect, and we liked the front staff. They were courteous and friendly everytime we had a need.

The breakfast was good and the hot dishes varied each day. Actually, the free breakfast was one of the reasons we chose this hotel . . . and we were quite happy about it.

the price -- well what can you say when you knowingly visit during the busiest month of the year during the jr. olympics!? and the space -- it was not roomy to be honest. Small rooms. HOWEVER -- the point of staying in VBeach was the beach -- and the beach was truly awesome. And Hampton Inn truly was a blessing to our stay.

Stayed in a 2 queen room. Beds were great! Everything was clean! We enjoyed having the small fridge in the room. Great location on the Northern end of town. Very close to the free events going on in the evenings. Breakfast was good! Plenty of hot and cold items. Plenty of tables in the morning. Check in/out was easy! Great stay! We would stay here again!

This is a great resort hotel. We had a nice large room with a king size bed. The staff was extremely courteous and one of the best perks was having a room that faced the beach. We fell asleep to the ocean every night. The free breakfast with it's buffet style spread was great! If other Hempton Inns are like this, I will search them out. Great large comfortable bed, central A/C was new, QUIET room (we couldn't hear the neighbors), clean bathroom, new linens as asked or replaced and the location was perfect for what we were looking for in a beach location. As far as value, it was pricey. But, we WERE directly on the beach and could walk to everything (or rent a bike).

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on North end of Virginia Beach. We chose this hotel because of it's prime location and we always have a great stay at this chain. When we arrived, the front desk employees were very kind and professional. The hotel lobby was nice and you can see the indoor pool/hot tub right when you come in. There was a small shop next to front desk so that you can purchase snacks and drinks. The breakfast was great - alittle bit of everything for everyone in the family. The room was very nice - all rooms had ocean view with balcony. The bathroom was very spacious and the room had a mini fridge w/ microwave. My only gripe was the cleaning staff and the breakfast staff. They were not friendly and walked around with this " I hate my job" look on their face. The maids put very little effort in cleaning our room. They basically just pulled the comforters up with the sheets crumbled underneath and they didn't vacuum. I complained to the front desk and the next day, the room was cleaned slightly better. I still found previous guest's nail clippings on the floor! Yuck! The breakfast staff never greeted anyone and looked at you "rude" when you asked them for something. A woman comes out of kitchen yelling "hot plate, hot plate" as she replenishes the scrambled eggs. Never an "excuse me" or any other type of interaction. As we walked around the hotel, the maids are talking loud about their personal business and how they can't wait to finish their shift. One instance, a maid blocked our hall with her carts and sheets on the ground as we were trying to roll our luggage by. She just stood there staring at us and wouldn't move! So, we rolled all of our luggage over the sheets and pushed the carts out of our way. I love Hampton Inns - but I think this particular one needs to invest in some better employees! If I wanted this type of service, I would've saved my money and stayed at a Thrifty Motel. Besides the staff, the beach location was awesome and not too crowded. There was outside entertainment all along the strip every night!

We were all set to go to Catch 31 (a fancy seafood restaurant at the Hilton). They were completely booked and can't accommodate us so we felt really rejected. The hilton concierge recommended the Hampton Inn Restaurant Timbuktu. We went there very late and were soooo surprised by the food, service and great atmosphere.

Lindsey our waitress was awesome! She really made our night so much better. She made great recommendations, was attentive and just fabulous. The food was surprisingly great! We ordered the lamb, the SheCrab soup, the oysters, drinks and the works. Even the kids ate their spaggetti. :) We were happy and full campers.

Eventho' we didnt' stay at the hotel, now I want to and will be booking our next trip at the Hampton Inn Waterfront view.

I found myself and my family looking for a hotel on Virgina Beach for one night over a very HOT, HUMID and BUSY weekend. I was unhappy with the accomodations at another hotel and made multiple calls to reserve a room while in the area with family for my son's football camp. Everything was booked solid...but was told I would receive a call back if something opened up....at the 11th hour Jackie and Jessica Sharp called back to let us know that a room had become available. After driving over 10 hrs and withstanding the 105 degree heat watching our son play football....this was music to our ears! Great hotel....comfortable and COOL hotel....beach was great, pool was great and very nice....much more upscale than normal Hampton Inns and the view from our 7th floor balcony was priceless.....people watching on the boardwalk and dolphins swimming by for what seemed like hours in the morning....just what we needed. Thanks to Jackie and Jessica Sharp for all of your personal attention and helping my family out in a stressful situation. We will be back and we will be staying with Hampton Inn North....did I mention that it is less than 20yds away from the outdoor ampitheater? shopping? restaurants? night-life? boardwalk? should I go on....?
