Stayed mid-week in October for 3 nights. Since it was not the weekend, there were many open spaces so it did not seem crowded. However, I did not find the sites any closer together than most campgrounds and more spacious than some. The waterfall is very pretty so make sure you take the time to see it (in the tent/no hook ups area). We did not use the hot tub but checked out the building and it appeared they were clean & well-maintained. It's off the beaten track enough to have zero road noise, but close enough to not be out of the way for sight seeing. We visited Roanoke and the Shenandoah National Park while staying here. Our only contact with staff was during check in, but they were friendly & efficient. Pool & such was closed for the season but it looked like there were many activites to choose from during warmer weather. The tubes for floating the stream looked especially fun.
