“Classic Ritz-Carlton Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner does every thing that you would expect from them. Great staff - clean rooms - terrific customer care from the Valet to the Management. Resaurtant in Ritz is great...can sit in the bar area and have a terrific steak and watch the game as well. Easy access to the Mall as well...

Room Tip: if you ask about the concierge level you can usually have that perk included during your stay...snac...

I stayed here last spring for a little local getaway. The lobby areas and facilities are very nice, and the food is really excellent. The front desk situation leaves a lot to be desired. I have never stayed at any hotel where I have seen so much confusion and disorganization. Nothing major, just not together. I so often see other places reviewed by reference to the Ritz Carlton, such as "Don't expect the Ritz Carlton", etc. It's kind of funny, becuase the service here (with the exception of the restaraunt) just isn't up to par. The rooms are pretty good. I was very comfortable. I would stay again as it was comfortable, relaxing, and the food was so good. I like being connected to the mall, and it's fun to people watch here. I just think they need to tighten up the front desk. On the other hand, the spa facailities are kind of strange. You wait in this tiny little hot crowded room while you sit in your bathrobe and wait for the one available magazine to be available and try to not touch the people sitting on the couch on either side of you in their bathrobes. The changing room is way too small, crowded, and very public, like a highschool locker room. I've had several massages here, and the massages themselves have been great, but the facilities are not so good. There is a very rude lady at the desk there as well.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a great view.

Staff was very helpful and friendly....hotel was clean...stayed four days/nights in February 2012 - My biggest beef was the parking situation....they charge you for weekdays (when the hotel is emptier) and it's free for the weekends but when you take your car out Monday morning they charge you....the parking lots are also not distinguishable and it is easy to misplace your car at first (and I parked right by the elevator, but which elevator?) The elevator situation was also strange having the lobby on the fourth floor...the room was nothing special....TV Choices were more limited than I'm used to from other hotels (No Home & Garden, No Food TV). The drinks and eats in the hotel were prohibitively expensive....and were nothing special....I guess this all comes with the Ritz name...but so do the crackers....The traffic in the area totally sucks but that's the Beltway...if you have a GPS just set it for Off Highway and you'll get around the backroads much faster....avoid 495 if you can....lots of construction in the area but never heard the noise....

When I want to schedule an important meeting for business in Northern Virginia, I always choose the bar at the Rtiz. Its more than a power player breakfast or drink spot, it's feel important. The lobby recently went through a very hip makeover, but i feel it will date sooner than later. The rooms also seem to be shrinking or maybe that my waistline that's expanding. Curved shower curtain bars don't make bathroom feel any larger with normal room sizes that are nicely appointed, but share a McRitz type similarity to most of the other US locations- when their int'l spots are truly unique. The service is overwhelming..almost a barrage of staffing catering to all your whims- needed or unneeded. The valets and bellman are well intentioned, but often are compelled to over serve making one uncomfortable. I can't complain about the free champagne at check in- always a great touch and the sizable spa/workout spaces. The verdict- always consistent and a good value and the best place to stay outside of DC proper for business or a quick DC shopping excursion.

Room Tip: Views north are best away from elevators on a high floor. Double rooms are cramped, but Kings feel m...

A great hotel with good service. Great rooms with comfy beds and a large TV. Good food and stylish yet classical fittings. For a suburban US hotel this one is way above average.

Ritz Carlton is one of the better chain hotels with a consistently good quality. Tysons corner is no exception. I stayed in a club room, which is good value if you like to work whilst enjoying decent food and coffee that tastes better than what you can make in your room. Rooms are decent in size, but smaller than expected to be in the US (where everything is BIG :-)) The great asset is the location next to the mall. I brought the wife for a biz trip and she gave me all the time needed to work whilst she enjoyed shopping.

Room Tip: Club rooms are great value

Stayed one night for family busines. Great service, extremely friendly as expected. Room was very nice although next room louder than expected. All quiet and peaceful by bedtime. The few questions I had on my bill were answered promptly and taken care of even though the misunderstanding had been on my part. Overall the great experience I expect when staying at the Ritz and will only stay there when in the area.
