“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

I stayed here for 3 days with 3 motorcycle buddies.
We came down off the Blue Ridge Parkway and used this spot for a central location for our touring.
Excellent facilities, quality staff, free hot/cold breakfast with a large area (10-12 tables).( thx Tracy- good job).
Fast check in-unreserved ,at that- (Thx Wonda)
Despite being close to a huge Truck stop-we never heard them- rooms were very quiet and well appointed.
Flat screen TV, quick Wifi service, in room fridge- all top notch.
Easy access to Cracker Barrel restaurant( a 2 minute walk across the parking lot).

Will be back again !

Room Tip: Annex building ( next door)is easier to access from your vehicle.

We had a great experience at this property. A quiet room with a quality bed and a variety of TV channels to choose from. Breakfast had a variety of choices to include eggs, bacon, biscuits etc. Recently remodeled. The service was good as well.

Room Tip: We were near the pool on the first floor.

I enjoyed my stay last night at the Quality Inn. I have relatives in the area and travel there several times a month to visit. I was looking for a convenient place to spend the night on these trips. Because I travel with a small dog, it was important to me that I find a motel that accepted pets. This Quality Inn more than fit the bill! Very clean, very comfortable furniture and bedding. Well arranged. Good bathroom fixtures. I was surprised that it was so close to Interstate I-81
and I heard ZERO highway noise. Pleasant area to eat a good breakfast this morning before hitting the road for home. The general manager, Fonda, and the desk clerk, Kent, were both very nice to me as well. I will for sure be staying there on future visits.

Room Tip: There are both upstairs and downstairs rooms without an elevator. This is a two story building.Rooms...

This is the worst place i have ever stayed.. what is the point in having a pool if you dont wont kids to make in noisey while they are in the pool. Further more if you have a problem with the kids being loud how about do your job and not call the sheriffs department on a group of 9 year old girls who had played ball all day in 90 degree heat.. When we play ball in troutville again we will not stay there we had over 30 rooms ourselves and that did not include the three other ball teams that where their as well. Staffing should have had enough since to know to put everyone that was with ball teams on the side with the pool and everyone else on the otherside so that they where not bothered by kids being kids in the swimming pool. The lady working had a very nasty disposition. When asked for a coorperate number to call about her instead of giving us a number she told us we could just leave. my kids where just sitting outside trying to eat there dinner. I hope you think twice about staying in this place. Even the rooms where not clean my son had a nose bleed durning the night and instead of them putting new sheets on the bed they just made the bed up with the same sheets.

Room Tip: the whole place is terriable

My son and I were traveling from New England to Louisiana and this was our first night.
I had read the reviews of other hotels in the area, which seemed to vary from guest to guest.
The Quality Inn met all of our expectations- it was clean, quiet, safe and comfortable.
The check in was very smooth thanks to Cindy (?). The room was fine, and included a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was small, but clean (which is more important)
The room was clean, but the carpet was ready for a cleaning. A very small detail was the
mini-fridge needed defrosting.
Our room was on the second floor, but not a problem for us. A Cracker Barrel restaurant was
adjacent to the property. When we asked about good nearby restaurants, we were encouraged to visit a Mexican food restaurant if we liked Mexican food. Rancho Viejo was a great place to eat, and very close.
Breakfast was better than average, with hot eggs, sausage, gravy and biscuits. These were
surprisingly good for microwaved food. Breakfast was ready well before the 6:30 Sunday start. The swimming pool looked to be well cared for, but was not used.
Overall this hotel stay was better than average. I would stay here again, it had excellent value for the person traveling on a budget.

Room Tip: Ours room was second floor, less noise from other guests. Doors open to outside. A/C worked well...

This was our second stay at a Quality Inn on our recent trip from SC to CT (our first was in Statesville, NC), and I was just as happy with this one, BUT it cost $25 more per night, which was the only negative. I guess VA is just more expensive than NC in general. But the front desk staff was delightful and extremely helpful (see Rancho Viejo restaurant review too), and the room was large, clean, comfortable, with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The location was as convenient as it could possibly be, with restaurants within a "stone's throw". We'd happily stay there again, although we do like spending less $ for just a night's sleep.

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor, around the side - no noise and very convenient for unloading the ca...

Just got this room after a very bad experience at another motel in the area, there is no comparison, clean, clean, clean. Nice pool, great Internet, all of which the other was the worst. It may be twenty bucks more but after 400 plus miles we're worth it.
