“The best B&B we stayed in whilst touring Virginia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

The owner, Donna, was an excellent hostess. When we arrived she provided wine and nibbles on the verandah which was very welcome. As the only guests on the night we stayed she also upgraded us to her best room at no extra cost. The room was extremely comfortable and well provisioned - the steps to get onto the very high (and very comfortable) bed were much needed! Donna served a great breakfast the next morning.

My husband & I spent Easter weekend here. What a delight it was! Donna is a superb hostess & incredibly generous with delicious complementary snacks & WINE. The house is impecably decorated and maintained. Strasburg has lovely antique shops & a great restaurant(Christine's). Many nice vineyards are very close.

My husband and I returned to this wonderful B & B for our anniversary. We spent a cozy afternoon on the welcoming front porch sipping wine and sampling the cheeses and sweets Donna had prepared for us. The views of Signal Knob Ridge are wonderful. We chose to stay in her largest suite named for the Strasburg potter, J M Hickerson. The suite included a king sized bed and a huge bath that with a jacuzzi, dressing area and its own electric fireplace.
Breakfast is a feast including Mimosas, French toast, and fruit compote. The house is filled with wonderful antiques featuring the works of the Strasburg potters. Area attractions include wine tasting at local vineyards, antiquing, and a play at the Wayside Theatre. Come and enjoy!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Eberly room in March 2012. It was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was great. Donna was super hospitable. We strolled into town to go to antiques stores during the day and walked to Cristina's for dinner at night. We heard live music and had a great time. We loved the decoration of A.C. Stickley as well as the later afternoon snack and breakfast. Our stay in Strasburg was a delight.

Loved it here. High quality everything. Lots of antiques, but brand new bathrooms and TVs. the whirlpool tub in our room (the Eberly) was perfect. Walking distance to restaurants and everything else in town, but very quiet and peaceful. Homemade delicious breakfast (vegetarian at our request) and lots of coffee, tea, and snacks available 24-7. All in all, a great value and a very well-managed B&B.

Donna was an outstanding host and individual! It was our first BB and according to the other guests staying in the house we have "set our standards high" and let me explain why: 1) privacy- Once donna showed us to our rooms she provided 100% privacy, which was great for a romantic and quiet getaway; 2) complimentary drinks and snacks including coffee, sodas, beer, wine, and ICECREAM!; 3) safe neighborhood- we were able to walk in the streets and didnt feel the need to pull out my pepper spray =); 4) THE House- outstanding and CLEAN! definitely took you into a different world of antiques and victorian style...absolutely memorable. Donna paid so much attention to detail that even the door hinges were antiques. This HISTORIC house is one you MUST see. the house was filled with a variety of antiques from classic portraits to authentic 1950s magazines to collectable dollhouse pieces to original sewing tables, etc. The wrapped around porch was a bonus with rocking chairs and complimentary wine. We took our bikes and were able to store it in a safe spot next to the house. There was absolutely No tacky wallpapers, weird stuff animals, funky old smells, or anything else like from the Texas Chain Massacre movie. each room had a private bathroom, which was a plus! and each room had its own historic background with diff personality. we stayed in the soloman bell bethroom and everything was awesome but I wish the bed was little softer. 5) Breakfast was amazing!!! I can't find the words to describe the caramel french toast cus it was just THAT GOOD! the china set made me feel like i was having a tea party..it was beautiful. 6) Donna- so lovely to talk to and professional... She was very generous and polite! She knows exactly what guests are looking for and she provided more than excellent customer service.
