Modern Style Decor with spacious rooms, comfortable bedding. Breathtaking Views, wonderful continental breakfast variety...Would recommend, we will return...located in great area not far from all of the local attractions and the front royal entrance to the skyline drive. The Italian restaurant right next door to the hotel is amazing, nice couples scenery for a great cozy meal...Very friendly people in the area all around :)

Stayed at this hotel on our way to Maryland. Was a nice hotel on Rt 81 and was only 2 miles from Rt 66 to Washington DC. Check in was good and there is a small italian restaurant right across from the hotel. We walked over and the food was great. Watch though, as the portions were big - we ordered a medium pizza and is was HUGE but delicious. They said their specialty was the pasta - looked great but we were hungry for pizza. Night was quiet and the free breakfast was good. Check out was quick. Would stay there again if needed an overnight stay. If you prefer fast food, a McDonalds across the street attached to a gas station. Usually get top room, but got 3rd floor and was still quiet. Room layout in the hallways of the Fairfield Inns are funky but all-in-all a nice stay.

Stayed here for one night, on a road trip South. Very convenient to I-81, yet no highway noise. Front desk staff very courteous and efficient.

Property immaculate, with high end Lifecycle treadmills, etc. in exercise room, and small, but adequate pool and whirlpool.

Room Tip: sorry we didn't opt for the top floor (4th), as there was a lot of noise from room above

This was a very nice Fairfield that appeared to be recently renovated with everything fresh, clean, bright and modern. Conveniently located near both I81 and 66, on scenic Hwy 11, just about a mile north of downtown Strasburg, this hotel is easy to find. Our king room was spotless and cheerful with a flat screen tv and AC that worked well. The bed was pretty firm - if you're used to a Tempur-pedic it will seem extra firm. There is a small workout room, indoor pool and hot tub that were kid magnets. We stayed on a Saturday night which is prime time for the kids traveling to their various sporting events. So there were lots of kids around, but there was no unnecessary noise in the hotel other than occasional loud footsteps in the room above. For some reason, our room did not have a mini-fridge or microwave. Our friends in a similar king room (which was no larger than ours) DID have these amenities so I'm not sure if this is special to just some rooms or ours was unusual. A previous reviewer mentioned that none of the king rooms had the fridge/microwave - but at least one does. And they are not so tiny that it couldn't be accommodated in every room just by moving the desk/dresser furniture over a bit. Also, our phone was disconnected from the wall outlet and placed on the desk. Both ends of the cord were plugged into the phone itself and I didn't try to figure out how to fix it. These little oddities are what influenced a less than 5* rating. Normally there is more consistency among the rooms in the Fairfield brand. We did appreciate the easy to use alarm clock. The staff was extra friendly and helpful and gave us a better rate than we had booked plus a 10% off coupon for some local restaurants. The hotel was full the night before so early check in was not available, nor were we offered an upgrade as Marriott Silver elites. By the time we were able to check in there was a continuous line and it took a bit longer than it needed to with only one person on duty at the desk at this predictably busy time. The breakfast was decent with waffles, coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit, bagels, toast, Jimmy Dean sandwiches, etc. but no hot items - and the poor girl who was handling it all by herself was a bit overwhelmed. Though the hotel was busy it looked like everyone could get a seat at breakfast without a wait in the cheerful breakfast area. Overall a nice, comfortable hotel with friendly staff that has a bit of room to improve.

Room Tip: King rooms are the smallest, and apparently most of them do not have the requisite mini-fridge/micro...

We stayed here one night on the way to Antietam Battlefield. Adam, at the front desk, was incredibly welcoming. He suggested some local restaurants. We ended up at Christine's Cafe and had fun listening to their Open Mic night. The room was very, very clean. TV had HBO so we got to see Boardwalk Empire, thanks to the Fairfield Inn. Breakfast was great! Out of 3 hotel on our trip, this was my favorite.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 4th floor -- never heard the traffic.

Front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. I had booked a king bedded room but had to change rooms because the AC was very noisy. I asked if there were any larger rooms as mine was very tight. I was then offered a two queen bedded room and was told they all had refrigerators and microwaves. I found out that all the king bedded rooms are the same size and that none of them have refrigerators or microwaves because there is no space for them and adding them would create a fire hazard. The queen bedded rooms are HUGE.

I had a maintenance issue and called the front desk - got no answer. I walked down later and found the front desk clerk busy checking folks in. I mentioned the problem (toilet seat was very loose). He said that he was the only employee in the hotel but would see what he could do to help later.

When I went to the fitness room later, I noticed that the clerk was busy again assisting folks checking in. It seemed there was a steady stream all evening. I can not understand why one young man was left responsible for so much. The GM of this hotel needs to take a close look at anticipated occupancy levels and adjust staffing as needed.

The fitness room had one elliptical machine and two treadmills (Lifecycle brand so they were quality). There was nothing else in the room. Each of the machines had a TV built in but none of the network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox) were available. The bulk was cable news and sports channels.

Breakfast was disappointing. Fairfield only has one strength of coffee and most hotels seem to favor weaker blends; this hotel was no exception. Also, they did not have the flavored creamers - they had regular half and half only. For food, they had the minimum continental choices. There were no hard boiled eggs and only packaged oatmeal. They did have the Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits that could be heated in the microwave and the ubiquitous waffle makers. There is a trend now where Fairfield Inns are offering hot items such as scrambled eggs, breakfast meats and sausage gravy. The Fairfield in Strasburg has not jumped on that bandwagon yet.

There are a lot of things that need to be improved at this hotel. Too bad about those king bedded rooms because the only way to fix that problem is to put a single twin bed or a double in them. That would gain some space.

Room Tip: Do not book a king bedded room. They are the size of closets.

A few nice upgrades in a pretty regular property. Front desk staff for me was hit or miss and after calling four times to get an issue resolved, I ended up having to call corporate to get management to call me back. I would have given it less stars for this alone but just want to concentrate on the positive as I don't think that this disconnect I had was common. Not a bad trip but could have gotten four stars without the problem I had post checkout.
