We stayed in this hotel for about six weeks while looking for housing in Northern, VA. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. The hotel is walking distance, just blocks from a GIANT brand grocery store and plenty of places you can eat without having to drive. There's also a Marshalls, Home Depot, and Gold's Gym. AND, there is a library a block away. Across the highway, I'd recommend driving because although it is close, there's no real pedestrian path. At any rate, the other side of the highway has plenty of shops and Dulles Mall is within a few miles. My wife had our car doing the day and I was on foot, so this was a great place to stay for me. Across from the shopping were residential areas where I was able to walk the dogs, plenty of sidewalks and safe street crossings.
The hotel rooms are nice - we had a 1 BR suit with kitchenette (Microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator, and garbage disposal - with pots/pans and service for four) and a large desk to work from. One television in the bedroom and another in the living room. Lighting in the rooms wasn't great, but I'm sure the staff would work with you if you need more. The desk area has great lighting, so I was content, but the living room was poorly lit. That said, the hotel was getting new furnishing the day after we moved, so perhaps they may have brought in more lamps. The beds are comfortable and there are two end tables, drawers under the TV in the BR, a chest of drawers, and a nice closet.
Maid service was officially twice a week, but the ladies would come in whenever you asked.
Bathrooms were standard fare, nothing exciting, nothing to complain about.
Heating is provided by a unit under the windows, equipped with a thermostat. Not my favorite type of AC since they tend to be noisy, but this room was large enough that the noise was not overpowering.
Small gym with two treadmills and some free weights with one bench and equipped with one small television. We were there in December and the room was quite cold each time I visited.
There is an outside pool.
Parking is plentiful.
Breakfast is a "grab and go" type. They have a pretty good selection of donuts, muffins, orange juice...and they also have a small "store" with similar offerings in case you have an urge after hours or you missed the breakfast hours - I believe they shut down at 0830 - which seemed way too early for my sleepy head.
Overall a great place and after 10 nights we got a discounted rate and an even better rate after that. So no complaints on the price, particularly in this area.
In summary, a very nice hotel/staff, well equipped/located. The biggest drawback I saw were the under the window A/C units and even then, they were tolerable.
Room Tip: The hotel is three stories and has one elevator. The elevator is slow and in the mornings/evenings...
