“A Wonderful and delicious New Years Eve Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2011

What a wonderful New Years weekend. This may have been our 5th New Years at the Inn at Vaucluse Springs and it keeps getting better. For many, many years our group of four couples has gone out for New Years and have found a place we love to chill out and also celebrate the ringing in of the New Year on Barry and Neil's "Magic Clock". Barry and Neil, our innkeepers, can not do enough to make us feel at home and we truly consider them our friends. Barry's humor seems to blend in with our silliness and you can always hear us laughing with him or any of his staff.
Food has always been wonderful at the Inn but with the addition of their new Chef, Adam Polcinski, it has been kicked up to a superior degree of excellence. The multiple course dinners are presented so artfully and each course has an amazing mixture of ingredients and flavors that would be hard to beat at some of the top 4 star restaurants. The New Years and Saturday night dinners were incredible. Bravo!! What also makes this so wonderful is the atmosphere is not stuffy at all and we have our wonderful servers,Michelle and Briana. They have also become friends we look forward to seeing and laughing with them each time we are at the Inn.
Don't miss staying at this wonderful Inn that is not too far from the D.C. rat race.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Vaucluse Springs for the second time, and for us it was as wonderful as it was the first time. We stayed in the Manor House this year and the room was great. The Innkeepers were friendly and very attentive, the food was memorable and the staff went far above expectations to see that we had an enjoyable stay. We rebooked before we left.

We have been going to the Inn at Vaucluse for 8 years. Just got back from a New Year's Eve weekend with friends - the dinner was just wonderful. While the food and the Inn are great, it is the staff that really makes this Inn special. They have gone out of their way each year to make us feel welcome.

We keep coming back to this romantic jewel in the country for the great hospitality of the owners and staff as well as the beauty of the Vaucluse Spring, the peaceful surroundings, the cleanliness, the varied accomadations, the food, and the location. We have stayed at this inn five times. We enjoy midweek Summer minivacations for quiet around the pool and walks about the property. Christsmastime is fantastic for the warmth of the fires in every room to the warmth of the hospitality and the homey feel. This is a fantastic property where you will not be disappointed.

After a trip cancellation to Asheville, NC, we knew exactly who to call on short notice.........Neil and Barry, our friends and innkeepers at the Inn at Vaucluse Springs. We called in the morning and Barry welcomed us that afternoon with open arms, per his usual.

My husband and I have happily been frequent guests at the inn for about 11 years. Usually, we stay in the Chumley Suite, but this time decided to upgrade and stayed in the Gallery. It was a delight. Working fireplace and lots of space to stretch out and watch the snow fall.

As was previously stated by TA posters, the staff is friendly and helpful, especially Cesar, who delivered a paper each morning to our front door. Adam's cuisine is innovative and cutting edge, although we've had lots of fine meals cooked by Neil, as well, over the course of many years.

Having had the pleasure of staying in many fine inns all over the world, the Vaucluse Inn ranks right up with the best of them. It's the many small kindnesses that make each guest feel special and want to return. Well done once again Neil and Barry!

My wife and I have a tradition of spending the weekend before Christmas at the Inn at Vaucluse Springs in Stephens City, VA, not far from Washington DC. We honeymooned there 11 years ago and just returned from our 9th visit. Each visit since the first, the innkeepers have personally met us at the door with a hug and a "Welcome home." And so it is.

We have recommended IAVS to numerous couples from our church and they all come back thanking us. Our advice is always to just unpack and stay on the many-acred premises to get the full effect...no need to go antiquing or autumn leaf viewing. Dinners on Friday and Saturday night (5 courses) are not to be missed. Our favorite lodges are the Mill House and the Cabin in the Woods. Pure romance, peace and simplicity. Gentlemen, surprise your wives with a weekend and you can coast on the brownie points for months.
