“Best place to relax and spend New Year's Eve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2010

This is year 4 spending New Year's Eve, plus and extra night, with our group of 4 couples. It was just as wonderful as every year. We relaxed, laughed, were catered to, ate wonderful food and just enjoyed every minute. This is the perfect place to meet wonderful New friends, and exchange great conversation for the Evening. Barry and Neil are the perfect Inn Keepers. They add a special sparkle and many witty moments to our visit. It is a place you don't want to leave. It takes you away from our busy day lives it the city. We love it here both summer and winter. A very elegant place with no pretence.

New Year's was elegant and fun with a little dancing brought by guest with i Pods and speakers.
A not to miss place!!!!

My husband and I came here for my 30th birthday getaway. We drove up in the middle of a major snow storm and were housebound for virtually the entire stay. The staff couldn't even make it in to the Inn to work, but absolutely nothing lacked in our stay. Neil took over as chef and created the most delicious meals and we found our stay even cozier seeing the snow fall around the pastoral setting. We would absolutely return and definitely recommend this Inn especially in the wintertime as the in-room fireplaces are so cozy.

Simply put, a fantastic weekend. The service was impeccable, the food wonderful, and the room unique and romantic. There really isn't much I could add, The INn at Vaucluse Spring knows how to run a B&B.

We had an 80th birthday/family and friends reunion. We booked the whole Inn, and we were treated like royalty. All of the rooms were spotless, smelled like real wood and fine textiles. The Chumley house is absolutely perfect, old log home charm with modern amenities-no tv-hooray!!! Barry and his wonderful staff are the perfect compliment to the stunning setting and unique buildings. I would, and will, give the Inn the highest recommendation and am already planning another trip there.

Other than the fact that our room was in the newest cottage and somewhat dissapointing due to it's "new" feel, our stay was great. We'll be back to try the Jones room, the cabin or the studio.
Barry and Neil are gracious and accommodating hosts, and Kelly's breakfasts were fabulous. The apple, brie and carmalized onion omlet with a side of maple pepper bacon still has my wife talking.

This place is the perfect distance from DC, and the surrounding sprawl. The inn is out in the country where you can really enjoy feeling removed from life and work while taking time to enjoy the food, the other guests, and each other.

The presentation of the food, the hosts, and all the help were really warm and gracious. I think we were the only guests at the inn who were not repeat visitors. This was our first time, but we will are definitely going to go back. One night was not enough time there. Two nights would have been perfects.

The breakfast that was served was fantastic, and the warm coffee and cider that was always out for guests was a nice touch!

So close to DC, yet so far! A lovely property with historic buildings and a mill pond and creek. Great gourmet food served attentively. Just the right amount of host interaction (important to a husband disinclined toward B&Bs!). A fire in your bedroom! Our room even included the use of large common rooms and a screened-in porch in our building.
We are avid cyclists, and (bonus!) the owner provided us with several cue sheets for area rides. We had time for the Middletown 21-mile Apple Pie Ride. The scenery was stellar and the ride so quiet. Hard to believe that I-81 is near. Great hill workout!
Lots of area hiking, and Winchester is 8 miles away, so it's an ideal location. We also had a fun horseback ride at Highlander Horses, 15 minutes away. They let you lope!
