Loved our visit to the Pond Cottage it was just what we needed to break up our trip between PA & NC.

Well appointed cottage with welcome amenities we very much appreciated! Even treats for our furSon. Braved the temps to hit the hot tub outside & watched the deer frisk around. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi inside as well!

Cozy Cottage was set off to itself in back of property overlooking the pond that make for lovely views & privacy.

Breakfast was DELICIOUS & we enjoyed our gracious hosts very much. Definitely trying the recipe shared.

Just wanted to post something to acknowledge how absolutely fantastic these cottages are! The attention to every detail makes it even more wonderful! Great romantic getaway for our anniversary this past week, and it was really tough to leave! Will post details later, but most importantly, book it now!

My husband and I just returned home after spending 4 nights at Pond View Cottage. The cottage was very clean and cozy, beautifully appointed and the setting was perfect. You are actually not very far from the road but it feels secluded and is private. We arrived in the early evening, unpacked, opened a nice bottle of wine and some good cheese, sat out back in the Adirondack chairs by the lake until dark. It was a nice ending to a long day of driving. The next day we headed south to explore Lexington and have lunch and then onto the Natural Bridge. The second day we went north to Luray Caverns (awesome) then stopped in Staunton on the way home for wine tasting at Ox Eye winery's tasting room and then to dinner at Byer Street Grill...good food. Third day was the Skyline drive, which was gorgeous, and then to Charlottesville for dinner at MAS (an awesome tapas restaurant - go early - they fill up fast). We never hurried or rushed, didn't try to do and see everything the area has to offer, which is a lot, and it was perfect. The cabin is in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas. Went to the Manor House one morning for a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed talking to Ray and Melissa and the other guests. Our other mornings were lazy - enjoying our coffee and breakfast while still in our robes in the cottage. There have been times when I've returned from a getaway and been exhausted but not this time...it was a very relaxing, rejuvenating trip.

My wife and I finally got a chance to get away for the weekend and completely enjoyed our stay at Alpine Hideaway's Ivy Cottage. The cottage is cozy and very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the front porch swing (cows and deer included), night time sky from the hot tub, and simply sitting by the fireplace. Breakfast basket was a perfect start to day spent hiking at Crabtree Falls. Great hike with beautiful views. The best views are actually on the way up to the top. Definitely, not alone on the weekends even in the rain. Good restaurants in the Staunton and Lexington areas. We didn't get to the local vineyards but several of the restaurants offered their wine on the menu. We are going to plan on returning real soon. Thanks Ray & Melissa!

Alpine Hideaway is an excellent place to stay! My husband and I stayed at the Pond View Cottage for 2 nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The cottage was immaculate, cozy, decorated beautifully and well stocked. The hot tub on the deck was great in the cool fall evenings and the fireplace added a great romantic ambiance. I had ordered in-room massages and the grill your own steak dinner as special surprises. Those were awesome as well! Only felt marginally guilty as we were grilling the steaks with the neighboring cows watching. The view of the pond was peaceful, can watch the fish jump. Saw about 7 or 8 deer in the evening. Melissa and Ray are excellent hosts, very friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about the area attractions, directions and restaurants. The evening social hour was fun, with wine or beer tasting as well as lively conversations with fellow guests and hosts. Highly recommend the breakfast at the inn. Melissa is a wonderful cook and creative! My husband and I highly recommend the Alpine Hideaway Cottages for a getaway. Everything you could want right there with lots to do in the immediate vicinity. Great hiking at Crabtree Falls, a moderate hike with great scenery on the way up.

For our 25th anniversary we wanted to spend a long weekend away. We booked the Pondview Cottage and were very pleased with our stay. The cottage had everything we could have wanted. The setting was beautiful, private patio with hot tub allowed for a relaxing stay. Also there are many things to do within a short distance allowing us to stay in and go out. We went to Oceolla Mill for an excellent dinner (for availability remember to reserve in advance). Crabtree Falls, Luray Caverns and Natural Bridge are examples of wonderful natural beauty nearby! The breakfast at the main house was spectacular. Melissa and Ray are very gracious hosts. We will definitely return!!
