You know how when you look for a romantic getaway they can sometimes look tacky or schmaltzy? Not this place. We stayed at the Pond Cabin for two days and had the time of our life. If you cook, everything is there (including a grill) to make a gourmet meal. If not, they have packages for meals. There is a wine tasting at 5:30PM every day, and you get to know Mellissa and Ray, the owners who are great. The cabin is isolated enough for privacy (I was blasting the Allman Brothers late while we relaxed in the hot tub) everything is clean, and at night we watched a million fireflys and stars.
THIS is THE romantic getaway.
We will be back.

Room Tip: The Pond cabin seems to be the favorite.

We stayed at Ivy Cottage for a couple of days to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The cottage was perfectly equipped, they've thought of everything. We grilled steaks on the front porch as we took in a beautiful view. The hot tub on the rear deck was fantastic and very private. We will stay here again and will recommend it to our family and friends.

We stayed two nights at Alpine Hideaway. One night in Sunset and the other in Pond View. Both cabins were very well appointed with full kitchens, comfortable beds, and spotless bathrooms. The gas grill at Sunset was new and we had a great steak dinner. Sunset is on the side of a ridge overlooking the valley and is very peaceful. Pond View is equally well appointed and is on the bank of a spring fed pond. It's stocked with rainbow trout, sunfish and bass. I brought my fly rod and caught numerous trout and fat sunfish. Alpine Hideaway is 10 minutes from a nice winery and less than 30 minutes from Shenandoah National Park and its various hikes, including Crabtree Falls (a very scenic hike). We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Alpine Hideaway.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with either cabin.

The Pond View cabin is absolutely beautiful! Melissa and Ray have left nothing undone, they have thought of everything possible to make your stay very accommodating and relaxing. We opted for the steak dinner package and were very happy with our choice. The steak was out of this world. We had an amazing time and are looking forward to our return stay!

We stayed in the Ivy Cottage at the Alpine Hideaway. It was truly a relaxing and comfortable retreat. The cottage was well appointed with linens and towels while the atmosphere was luxurious. The hot tub was a welcome amenity after a day of hiking in the beautiful mountains near the inn. Inn keepers Ray and Melissa have an amazing place. Very clean and well stocked. Melissa made an outstanding breakfast well worth the trip just for that. The Crabtree Waterfall is a must see. We went horseback riding with Appalachian Horse Adventures. What a great place to go for a trail ride. I highly recommend Alpine Hideaway.

My wife and I stayed at the Pondview cabin as a time to decompress during Spring Break--she is a teacher.

We are both avid readers, and this vacation was an opportunity to catch up on the many books we just can't seem to get to during our normal home routine. As a benefit, Pondview allowed us to bring our three-legged dog, whose presence added to our vacation.

The cabin's internal ambience was beautiful, restful and upscale. The pastoral setting added to a restful atmosphere. We departed refreshed, and will return again to Pondview!
