“Great service, great food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We had a party of 8 on Saturday evening to celebrate my daughter's 19th birthday. The noise level is pretty high during the busiest time. A little difficult for the 84 year old grandparents. The hostess was an older woman who was not very polite. However, our waitress was terrific, as was the food. The homemade bread and flavored butter was wonderful. Everyone who had the ribs thought they were excellent. My mom had the best crab cakes she has ever had and she is a world traveler. I had the very best Mahi Mahi made Greek style and my husband had the best clam chowder anyone had ever tasted.
Overall we thought the experience was great. My daughter has been trying to get us there for several years and I'm so glad we finally made it. We will definitely go again.

“Good Prime Rib”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

In town for meetings. Staunton is not a hub of fine dining - so go with a tried and true.

It's a little slow, it's pretty noisy but it is what it is. We waited 15 minutes on a Thursday and saw a lot of empty tables so not sure why.

Menu way to big and too many complicated sounding specials to think they can deliver on all. So we ordered the prime rib. told no rare left and we said we'd take med rare. Literally two minutes later server came with out food. I think because if it sat under the lights it would turn medium soon - so good for us and smart by the kitchen. Of course that meant we had to wait for our wine and ask for bread but that was ok as the prime rib was great. As we left we saw others from our meeting at different tables all waiting for food and not looking happy. But i do recommend over other resturants in town we tried. Prime Rib and glass of red wine and tip came to 30$ with tax and tip. Prime rib 16.99 Red Wine 7.50 -

“The best that Staunton has to offer.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

My consistent favorite. The food is always good, they have a pretty wide selection of the favorites and some unique fare also. I love the flavored butter for the bread with the flavors changing all the time. The ribs are my favorite but I have like everything I have eaten. If wine is your thing they have an extensive wine list. It is not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is nice, it is an converted flour mill, but suitable for date night or dinner with the family. I am a stickler for service and it has always been good.

“Lovely historic building, attentive staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

There are many selections on the menu, and a good list of wine and beer choices, too. This was certainly good food--not necessarily creative or outstanding--but consistent. I might recommend more standard fare like burgers or steaks, which they do very well.
