We heard about "Lundch"-- Mike Lund's sandwich/lunch place from people we met during a visit to Staunton. We went the next day to his unpretentious place from which he runs his catering business and fixes lunch three days a week (Wed.-Fri.) We had a bowl of his vegetarian Pho-- a terrific flavorful broth with spring vegetables-- shared a grilled pineapple and mango salad, then tried a poached Polyface Farms chicken breast over a wild rice salad. Everything was pure and fresh and packed with flavor. We went early and enjoyed the limited seating plus conversation with Mike while he filled catering orders and prepared lunches. He has impeccable training (the Inn at Little Washington) and wonderful ideas about food and combinations. We will definitely go there the next time we are in Staunton. It's not really a restaurant; you might want to do take-out and a picnic. But it is a meal that will make your taste buds sing.
