“A little bit of everything for everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

I jogged around the entire park and could not believe the picnic areas, the pool, baseball fields, and the special pond for the ducks and geese.
A wonderful place to walk around and just relax under the fresh grass and trees and a golf course!
You should check it out!

“Fireworks and the 4th of July”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

We were visiting Staunton over the 4th weekend and found out this is where they have the fireworks display. We went over around 9 PM and listened to the live music for about an hour. They had a nice carnival like festival going on in the park. Everyone seemed to get along and we never felt out of place there. It was dark while we were in the park so I can't say too much about the daytime activities but the tennis court and pool looked well kept. We used one of many Porta Johns while we were there so I don't know about the permanent facilities cleanliness. We drove by during the next morning on our way to McDowell and it had already been cleaned up. You could hardly tell there was a carnival there the night before. It seems to be a very popular, safe place to visit along the lines of a smaller Boston Commons. The lake, the swans etc reminded us of the Commons. We enjoyed the time spent there and would visit again if time permitted.

“Unbelievable for a small town.”

You name a sport and this park has it covered, including golf. There is something for toddlers to old folks.

“Great golf!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

If you want to play an incredibly hilly, fun course for only $20, play this course. Not Augusta National course conditions (clover in rough) but greens fine and I had a great time the two times I played there.

“A park from old times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Gypsy Hill Park has a huge, old fashioned bandstand, which, during the summer, features music Monday through Thursday and family movies on Friday; tennis courts; a golf course; a skateboard park; multiple children's playgrounds and a popular kiddy train ride; a beautiful pond with swans, geese, ducks, carp, and fountains; a small lake stocked with fish; three baseball fields and a baseball park for high school and college games; and plenty of green space for just walking the dog or lollygagging. It was one of the main reasons we chose to live in Staunton, and it just gets better every year.
