I'm not American so really appreciated the theme of the place. There's a shop just before the restaurant where you can pick up all kinds of Americana if you want to buy some gifts for folks back home. Shop was kinda pricey, but that ok because the restaurant wasn't.
Was pretty full, but service was prompt and friendly.
Nice big meal, but my friends made fun of me when the waitress asked 'sides' and I thought she meant if I preferred the left chicken breast or the right. I ended up with a lot of 'sides' on my plate, and love those bread things they have.
Well, I'd put anything down but was expecting a southern fried chicken but I got a chicken schnitzel. Oh well, I blame my lack of familiarity with American food. I'd definitely try it again though, just order something else.
This was part of my road trip from upstate NY to S. Carolina. It was a perfect half way point, with a Red Roof motel and Shooneys nearby.
