We've lived in VA for 3 years and I've wanted to visit Staunton in the fall for all 3 of those years. This year for my birthday (in the spring!) my husband secured us a romantic getaway for October. It also happened to be the weekend that Sandy came through, but despite the rain we were warm and cozy in the cottage!
Juliette is a wonderful, cordial hostess. She welcomed us in straight away and got us settled. There is tea and hot chocolate in the main room for your enjoyment, as well as sherry at night. The couch, chairs & fireplace made for a wonderful area to curl up with a good book.
My husband requested soy milk for me and she not only had it, but made our breakfast separate from the other guests so our breakfast didn't have regular milk in it.
We stayed in the Juliette room which was quaint and comfortable. The grounds were beautifully kept and the house is about .6 miles from the town so easily walkable.
It was a wonderful birthday getaway!
