“Very tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

A huge menu offers many interesting Italian entrees. Our meals were very tasty, and the service was friendly and quick.

“Very Uneven: Learn to Make Drinks!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We have eaten at Emilio's many times, but have become disappointed largely because of the beverage service. When you order a drink, it is unlikely your server will know how to make it. I ordered an old-fashioned and was given a small glass of whisky. Five times I or members of our party have ordered "something and soda." It can't get much simpler than this, right? Evidently it can, because the server brought us "something" plus a fluid that tasted like tap water. Sending it back did no good; it returned as flat as ever. We have been told that servers have to make drinks themselves, because there is no bartender on the first floor. (Don't know if this is true, but it seems so.) Also, a recent bottle of decent red wine was almost $10 cheaper at another nearby restaurant. (Granted that Emilio's is a more upscale ambiance.) For the drink prices, Emilio's should do better than this.

“Very disappointing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

We should have believed the reviews we saw on tripadvisor (!) but the menu looked so delicious, and we were in the mood for northern Italian. Our server was very off-handed, not rude, just disinterested. The veal saltimbocca did indeed come in a pool of oil and the veal marsala was too sweet. The bread was boring, at best, and the lettuce in the Caesar salad was old and tired. We would not go back.

“Food was disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

We were disappointed with this restaurant. The service was friendly, but the food was some of the worst Italian food I have eaten outside of fast food restaurants. The salads were acceptable but could have been fresher. The pasta with basil pesto was overcooked and arrived in a pool of oil. The veal saltimbocca also arrived in a pool of liquid, was overly salty and without flavor. We were looking forward to trying dessert, but after the entrées we had had, we decided against it.
