We almost gave up on the Clocktower after their recent switchover from being a casual bar scene to a fancier family restaurant. I'm very glad we didn't. They still have the bar, and some excellent beers on tap. I think they've improved the menu since they first reopened a few months ago, because the first time my fiance and I went in we were disappointed to find they had no bar menu or happy hour. We had a beer and left to go find wings somewhere else. Then, several weeks ago I found a fliar in the Valpak that stated that Downtown at the Clocktower had Happy Hour, $2.27 draft beers (including imports!), and $.27 wings! So now I've think we've found our new favorite place for happy hour! They have several sauces to choose from and the wings are the biggest I've ever seen. (No lie, I've eaten drumsticks from a bucket of chicken smaller than these wings!). They also have delicious homemade potato chips which you can order on the side, and other great appetizers to compliment your beer.
I haven't tried anything off their dinner menu, but they have some really great looking dinner specials, I can't wait to go up there for dinner one night.
The bartenders and staff are really nice and friendly and it's nonsmoking, so that's a huge plus for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they keep the great happy hour and wings so others can have a chance to fall in love with it like we did.
