“Stayed at motel due to huge savings in coupon book. Motel...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Stayed at motel due to huge savings in coupon book. Motel is about 15 mins. from town. Rooms (I switched once) did not smell fresh and had to kill several flies. Internet connection was weak. Breakfast was great.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Our experience with Day's Inns has included a couple of great places, but mainly just average or worse. Our first impression here was that this one was going to be one of the top, but closer inspection knocked it down from a "5" rating. On the positive side, the decor was the "European" style of the pricier places, and everything looked bright and clean. However, the grout around the bathroom tiles needed deep cleaning. I prefer tile to the new tub enclosures, but the enclosures do have their advantage. Grout around the wall tiles had a couple of dark stains from previous mold which I might have overlooked, but the floor was a turn-off. Nevertheless, for the price it is a very good deal. And the continental breakfast (including southern style biscuits and sausage gravy) was better than most at that price. The staff hovered around, cleaning off the countertops, straightening the trays and replenishing them as needed (except for the eggs which were missing as the delivery truck was late!)

This is the nicest hotel for the money ($58/night) along the Route 81 corridor in the central Shenandoah Valley. Staunton's exit 220 is just 3 miles north of the one for this Days Inn, so nearly 2 dozen restaurants are minutes away. The breakfast, included with the room, has a variety of hot and cold choices from bagels to make your own waffles. The decor is lovely; a welcoming hotel whose staff wants to make you feel at home.

Good location for lodging, but some distance to restaurant options. Older building, but well maintained rooms and very good grounds (pool, etc.).
