We like Staybridge Suites, and this time got a two-room suite with a nice kitchen and two queen beds. perfect for our party of three. We do cook our own food. Staybridge Suites, in our experience, are reliably clean and usually quite new. The bedding was great, the room-darkening shades worked as they should, two flat-screen TV's were fine.
The only problem with this unit, room 500, was the two-burner cooktop. We couldn't figure out how to turn on either of the burners. After arrival, trying to cook dinner, we had to ask the desk clerk to come up and turn them on for us. After he did it, he couldn't explain how he did it, so in the morning we were faced with the same problem. After minutes of trying, I got one and then the other turned on, I think by pushing down and then pulling up on the knob, but I'm not sure what did it.
We don't know if this problem affects other rooms. I reported it to the desk clerk. It should be fixed before they rent the room to anyone else, because it's a dirty trick to pull on guests.
