“Very comfortable place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

This Residence Inn does a great job of making a home away from home. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small continental breakfast and a large breakfast area. The room is good size with a full kitchen and small dining. The room is very comfortable with everything for an extended stay. The hotel is not the easiest to get to from all directions but it is a good location with many restaurants and shopping nearby. It is also a short commute to the train station. Overall this is a nice extended stay hotel and highly recommended from this traveller.

I chose this hotel for 1 simple reason the kitchen and location . Honestly once I moved in with my family I immediately felt at home and warm welcome from the hotel staff . The rooms are spacious , clean, comfortable and most of all it has free wifi and parking space. Staff are extremely helpful and professional, location wise it is very conveniently located just close to dc and away from traffic. It is amazingly clean. Has all the amenities a person would require in a hotel......This is my first time in a residence hotel , i booked a 2 bdrm suite and a 1 bdrm suite, and I was blown away with the experience , I am staying at the hotel for 2 weeks waiting to relocate to a house and was waiting to move in soon but with the comfort I am feeling here I don't think I want to move soon. I raise my hat for the management of this proerty and the employees for keeping this an unforgettable experience.....

We stayed here for about a week. THe room and hotel are very clean, modern, up to date. THe location is convenient to major highways in the DC area. The neighborhood is fine (stores, etc.) but not at all charming. We were very comfortable here and would recommend the hotel. My only complaint is with the rates. I believe that during the week, most of the guests are there to work at nearby Ft. Belvoir and , as such, the lowest rate during the week is the highest govt. per diem rate allowed for the area. Therefore, it is difficult, during the week, to get a good rate. On weekends, lower rates apply, however, if you are staying more than a week, on a governmetn rate, the rate does not decrease at the weekend which, in my opinion, isn't right. I booked a seperate reservation for the weekend in order to get the lower rate. (In other words, the hotel seems to charge the highest rate possible that the govt. rate will still pay for--much more than hotels of comperable quality that are not so close to ft. belvoir--seems a little bit like price gouging to me) Apart from that, it was a great place to stay and I would recommend it.

Being 34 weeks pregnant, even I found this hotel very comfortable and accommodating. Checkin and checkout was a breeze. The hotel room was super clean. Having a fridge, microwave, and a couple glasses/tupperware was super convenient. Loved the pool, it was nice and warm and clean. Quiet at night. 15 minutes from Mount Vernon, Alexandria and Arlington. Wireless in the room worked well. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. It isn't in a tourist area, there are grocery stores and gas stations around it, so you aren't getting a "view" out our bedroom window. But for the price and the convenience to all the things we wanted to see, it was great!! Oh and almost forget, GREAT BREAKFAST! Eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, muffins, bagels, waffles, 4 kinds of juice...I thought it was a great breakfast considering it was included. We really filled up on breakfast for the day. Seating for breakfast was a little limited. But it was convenient that they had to to go containers where you could choose to eat in your room at the dinette table if you chose to. We didn't, we were always able to get a table in the breakfast area, but in case you couldn't, they made it more convenient. And free parking to boot!

We stayed as planned for one night and when we got to our room the toilet cistern (wc) was constantly trying to fill itself but couldn't as water kept flowing through into the toilet bowl. Somebody came to fix it and it seemed ok, but in the middle of the night (3am )couldn't use the toilet as the problem had recurred. Phoning the front desk but nobody answered, so my husband had to go down to use the public toilet in the reception area and to try to find a member of staff. He found the night receptionist sitting in the dining area, too far away to hear the phone. She quickly arranged to send someone to our room, who arrived in 15 minutes and quickly fixed the problem. No good in the middle of the night! Otherwise very good hotel, comfortable (soft) bedl but very small breakfast area. The room should have been checked properly before we arrived.

This is a gem. Located at the intersection of I-95 and 495 it is quiet, modern, warm and a decent value. We make our hotel choices by which properties will take a dog and while their pet fee is very high ($150, twice as much as their sister properties a block away) the room rate was lower for a spacious king mini-suite w/ full kitchen so we thought it was a good compromise and were delighted with our decision. We didn’t take advantage of their amenities (pool, gym, breakfast) but visually they all looked more than adequate; everything else you are looking for in a hotel stay we felt they did perfectly. There are several choices in this area, which I can’t imagine measure up to this hotel, and for some reason they were more expensive. For now this was a bargain.

What an amazing hotel!! We stayed here for our family trip with 3 young kids under 10. The location is very convienent to travel to the local metro station and take the subway into Washington, DC. We have never stayed at a hotel with such a great staff and management. Especially the way the interacted with the children. Parking is FREE which was great. The daily breakfast (buffet) as my kids called was amazing! And the manager dinner Monday-Wed. was just as amazing!
When it came to the rooms there are NO complaints. This hotel had the best and most comfortable pull out sofas ever. Come on now, we know how terrible it can be to sleep on a pull out but no back pain at all. One morning we started our dishwasher thinking we would empty when we got back, but the room service emptied it for us. Pool has limited hoursl but that is very understandbale since the poor hotel has to follow county rules and have a lifeguard on duty at all times. We will recommend this hotel to EVERYONE. Don't pass up this great hotel and staff. Thanks to them, we had the best vacation.
