After seeing many good reviews I had no hesitations about taking my boyfriend to the TRG for his birthday. Unfortunately the experience just didn't live up to my expectations. It was hit/miss and I really do not like inconsistency! I did like the environment - the restaurant is small and set up in a quaint manor but not overly crafty if you know what I mean. Kind of a farmhouse type setting but in a good way! My bf ordered the scallops for an appetizer and I ordered the bibb salad. Scallops were good, but bibb salad not so much. Way too much dressing which overpowered the freshness - I ate a quarter of it at most. For entrees, we had the beef tenderloin and the sea bass special. My fish was not good - it was floating in butter and was not appetizing at all. The tenderloin on the other hand was cooked nicely and the beef was tender and tasty. Desert was also just OK. Service was attentive which was appreciated. I may give it one more chance due to the number of other good reviews but would certainly make a different dining selection. Any place can have an off night or a poorly prepared dish...unfortunately I happened to be there on just such an occasion!
