“VCHSSS Fans love Anna's Ristorante!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

While traveling our VCHSSS racing circuit, we visit Anna's about 4 times a year. We have dinner and then the kids all get cannolis to go!

“Our Family Favorite in Smithfield”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

My family loves Anna's - from the food to the atmosphere. Sometimes we go and dine in and sometimes we call our food in and pick it up (yes, they have a drive up window). On Sunday they have a buffet. We went on Sunday, March 25th and they had a local singer playing until 2pm. My husband says the steak sub is the best ever. My daughter and I love the pizza. We highly recommend Anna's too all.

“Come eat at Anna's and be part of the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Pizza made Anna's famous, and that's just where the fun begins.
Since the very early 1980's this Anna's has been hugely popular among locals and out of town visitors.
If you bring a crowd, order Anna's Grande pizza, which measures 2 feet across! The oven at Anna's can actually cook two Grandes at a time.
Besides the pizza, which is unlike any other pizza chain out there (read: better!), Subs at Anna's are a unique creation too. Lots of toppings available and will definitely fill you up. Consider adding Anna's french fries on the side, like I did. I honestly think fries at Anna's are better than anywhere else I've tried, they season them with sea salt and a dash of pepper for a wonderful flavor.
Of course, there's the spaghetti and lasagna, manicotti and burgers, all with a recipe that you won't find anywhere else. The Anna's family is straight from Sicily, adding a special touch that keeps the dishes authentic.
For dessert, bring a big hunger so you can try the Tower Cake. Named that for a reason, you'll need 2-4 people to devour the most wonderful chocolate cake you'll ever experience. It's not super sweet either, but just the right kind of chocolate that you can't get enough of. For $8, it's worth every bite.
One of the newer additions to dessert is the lemon cookies. Each cookie is nearly as big as the plate it's served on; Anna's spent a month perfecting the recipe for them--yes, they are a creation of Anna's staff!
And almost every day, you'll find the owners (Natale, Josie, Vinny and Josephine) right at the first table by the door to thank you for coming by to eat.

“Food was good, service was a little slow,BUT noise overwhelming!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2011

WE decided that we wanted an Italian dinner, and this was the top rated in Tripadvisor. The restaurant was full when we arrived around 7PM on a Wednesday evening. Our waitress was very busy, and appeared to have too many tables to cover. Thus, our service lagged--it was 30 minutes from arrival for our pizza to be served, and we got a drink refill at that time, but no checking back to see if everything was OK, and a fairly long wait for a togo box and our check. The biggest problem is that with the metal ceiling, the noise is almost overwhelming. We sat across from each other at a 2 top table, and could barely hear each other even leaning forward. When we left to go back to the car, we remarked how much nicer it was outside in the parking lot, than the din inside. For that reason, I can't recommend this restaurant to others. In retrospect, we should have just left after we sat down, and gone elsewhere. If you want takeout, the food was good, and the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity. However, unless you are hard of hearing, I doubt you'd enjoy dinner,if the place is very full, as the noise level detracts from the enjoyment of the meal.

“A Family Fav!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2008

Being an ex-military family, we have seen the world and tasted many foods. When it comes to Italian food Anna's Ristorante Pasta Vino in Smithfield, Va wins!

Their food is great! We suggest their spinach and raosted garlic pizza, it is one of our favorites! We dined a few times a month when we lived in the area. Our last time in (Oct 08), I inquired about obtaining the ingredients to the pizza crust. :) A word came back from the kitchen that it was made with love. Sounds like my kitchen! This is the only restaurant we miss!

Servers were nice, friendly and attentive every time we went. The place is older but clean and tidy.
