My husband had a business meeting in this hotel and I came along for the trip. We stayed 2 nights. The hotel was nice enough. The decor was a bit early 90s, but decent. The front desk was exceptionally kind and courteous. There was a guy named Bruce I believe who went out of his way to be partiuclarly accomodating.

The rooms were fine. Small sleeping area and nice sitting area. The biggest downside was the bathroom - dark and dated, nothing special - not awful, just not terribly nice.

Some overall pros - wireless internet is free, the business center is free, tfhere's a free shuttle to restaurants within a 3 mile radius, decent workout facilities - even a sand volleyball court, two TVs in the room, white duvets - which are always a pleasant update to room decor, and even a reasonably priced restaurant and room service.

Cons - no free breakfast, middle of nowhere (although admittedly that's not the hotel's fault), thin walls between rooms (could hear neighbor's TV and emphysema cough), tired looking bathrooms.

Overall a good value and nice option for an airport hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Double Tree on 10/2/07 & 10/10/07 while flying in and out of Richmond International Airport. The hotel is only a short drive and within sight of the airport but very little aircraft noise. We arrived late (for us) in Richmond. check-in was quick and after had a very good dinner at Wing's (restaurant on-site). We had a double queen suite that was very clean and all the lights and plumbing fixtures worked. The A/C was a little loud and we shut it off when we went to bed. On our second stay the night before we flew home, we actually checked in a little early and had no problems. The room was the same in the condition as our previous stay. Wing's restaurant has a very good dinner menu and also opens for breakfast at 6 AM. The only flaw that we found was the slight odor of cigarette smoke in the corridors but it was minor. We would definately stay there again when flying in and out of Richmond.

I recently stayed at the Richmond airport Doubletree overnight while traveling for a business trip. I was in a king room which was extremely nice. A seperate sitting room area with a couch, chair, coffee table, TV, desk, mini-fridge and a sink. The bathroom consisted of a toilet and tub/shower, with a separate sink area outside the door. The wonderfully comfortable king-size bed, with a ton of comfortable pillows, was in a separate bedroom with a door. There was another TV in there, an easy-to set alarm clock, and an iron and ironing board in the closet.

I ordered a room-service breakfast, and it was delivered slightly before I'd requested it. The service at the front desk was excellent, and I was able to request and receive "late checkout" until about 1 PM so that I could change to more comfortable traveling clothes following my business meeting. The shuttle was quick and efficient, both picking me up from the airport and returning me after my stay. They have a convenient room just off the check-in area where there was a computer that I used to print off my boarding pass for my return flight.

There only real negative was a fairly noisy A/C unit. It worked very efficiently, but was also very noticable when it turned on and off. If I ever have occassion to travel to Richmond again, I'd definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

We had to stay one day longer in Richmond which was unexpected. We contacted the hotel and booked a room with no problem. I needed to get to a local pharmacy for a prescription and the staff gave me a free shuttle ride to and from. The staff also gave us some toiletry items since our luggage was at the airport. The free cookies were very good too. The front desk staff was very polite and took care of all our needs. The restaurant staff was also very polite. The room was very nice and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay near the airport, the shuttle ride was about 3 minutes.
