“You get what you pay for. Good for 2 large pets, right off highway.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2014 via mobile

We booked this hotel the night of our stay, based on price ($64 for king sized bed with 2 dogs) and convenience to the highway. It was fine for one night, but had several negative aspects. There were cigarette burns on the comforter and tub, a bag of open chips behind the nightstand, and was overall just run-down looking. However, they did have a friendly staff and an okay free breakfast in the morning. We fit comfortably in the room with 2 adults, 2 large dogs, and a toddler.

The only nice thing about this hotel was the location and free breakfast. It has a beautiful view and pretty good breakfast with a good selection. You can tell this hotel was very nice in the 70's and 80's, but currently in need of a remodel. It has various conference rooms that sit idle. The check in process was a okay. They do have an elevator to the second and third floor. Room was outdated, but clean at least. Issues with the door handles. They like to stick or not work. Some plumbing issues where things get backed up. I had to hold the tiolet handle down to get it to actually flush. They charge 7 dollars per night extra per pet. I was put into three different rooms in the one night based on problems. I talked to the front desk desk associate at check out and he did not care about my poor experience. They charged me four dollars more than I booked the room for and he said that was because I cancelled my second night at the hotel. That isn't true and I recommend you go to a different hotel. Anyone going to West Virginia, Highway 311 is beautiful, but a rough highway to drive back and forth.

We stayed here for several nights after leaving an unsatisfactory hotel down the road. This one came highly recommended and we were very pleased. It was a little outdated, but the staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, too, with a fairly good variety. The view was incredible, and it was really nice to sit and eat breakfast looking at the view! The pool was really clean, and a good size. We will definitely be staying there next year when we are in the area again!

Room Tip: Definitely get a room on the side with the view!

We stayed here on August 9/10 on our way between Portland Maine and Roswell Georgia. The hotel was quant but the customer service was horrible. We were woken up in the middle of the night by the smoke alarm even though there was no smoke in the room and neither of us smoke. Also the section of rug between the bathroom and regular room had pulled back leaving the staples and flooring exposed. My fiancée happened to step on this section and cut the sole of her foot rather painfully with multiple cuts. Had we not been in a hurry to return home we would have gone to the emergency room to get her foot attended to The downstairs desk did not have an adequate first aid supply available. This should never been the case for a hotel advertising newly remodeled rooms. The front desk person was very unhelpful and did not offer to amend the cost of our stay due to both of these grave issues.

We were coming through and had to book last minute. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were neat and clean. Even though it was pouring rain, the view was still great. Town is a quick drive where you can go get a bite to eat. Overall great bang for your buck.
