It is a great place to observe the history of Roanoke and its place in the changing of transportation and moving the country forward. Awesome pictures and other related material. you should include this in your planning.

“Who doesn't love to look at trains?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

This is a great museum for all ages. You get to see the history of trains and the photos are amazing. It's a fun museum that only takes about an hour or so to cover. Definitely worth a stop.

“Great Photography”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Many photographs, very few relics, of the railroads, and the people who worked along the system. Not expensive - well worth the price. Friendly staff.

“Hmmm...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Has potential, but overpriced. It could offer so much more. But knowing small budgets, I can understand to a point. Need to expand the horizons there. Try not to be charge a full museum price for a small walk through.

You kind of need to be into photography and trains to enjoy this museum. The photographs are excellent and the story interesting.
