“Nice walk, but wanted more.”

This is a great use of an older city area with nice local shops and restaurants. The antique shop was really surprising since it was mostly asian antiques. Neat, but not what we expected. The pawn shop was OK too. We were disappointed in the Virginia Discovery Museum as it was dumpy and just too young for our children. We walked around for about two hours and left feeling like we may have wasted the afternoon. Maybe it just wasn't what we were looking for.

“Touristy”

Restaurants did not have good ratings....check urbanspoon.com to find much better places to eat such as Local Roots, Blue Apron, Cuban Island, Pop's. Hard to find parking and the parking garages are expensive. The Saturday morning market is fun and had fruit and vegetable vendors along with local soap makers.

“central meeting spot”

a good place to start your visit to downtown roanoke...use area parking decks. several small restaurants in the building, bathrooms, outdoor and indoor seating. good views of sidewalk activities.

A lot of nice shops, restaurants and cafes. Its a quaint place. Farmers market on the weekend. Not too busy, relaxing to walk around.

“When in downtown Roanoke this is the place to go.”

This is not a specific business but a section of downtown where most the Roanoke's nightlife is. Good collection of restaurants with a lot of diversity. It's clean and safe and parking is usually not too bad.
