“A little History in Roanoke.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Since the Museums reopening in Center in the Square I have decided to become a regular, my daughter actually wants to see the exhibit’s and learn about History of our town and wants to explore everything she can. The Museum is now housed alongside the Science Museum which has rotational exhibits and even a touching tank for the kids.
The history on local sites from the Old Harrison School and many other places located in Roanoke was a real eye opener what it was like to be judged by the color of your skin and how much differently they were treated. It also has exhibits about the Slave trade and many other points of historical reference about slavery.

“African art exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

Had a chance to visit the new exhibit and found it to be most educational. I was equally impressed by the collection of art and the lay out. Without a doubt, this is an outstanding collection and I was impressed that the collector was shilling to share his private collection with the public.

This museum is for all ages. Plan on spending at least a full morning or afternoon here. Exhibits change on a regular basis and numerous events are held year-round.
