“Get to Roanoke and stay at The Inn on Campbell”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Last year, I was reading a Garden and Gun magazine article about roanoke, with all its offerings, and decided to put it on the list to pick from for our next long weekend. After some tripadvisor research and running across The Inn on Campbell, with it's crazy approval rating, I set my sights for a late Feb weekend. I liked the concept; bed and breakfast hospitality with an urban loft feel and downtown convenience.
Cindy called the night before to see about special requests, food allergies, and arrival time. I knew from the couple minutes on the phone I'd like her, just a good vibe. Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted by Keith who showed us the perfectly useful first floor and the awesome palladium suite. Keith was great too, he answered any questions we had, gave advice on dinner and music, and shared anecdotal info on the surroundings. We explored the room, downstairs and headed out on the town with Keith's suggestions. I've got to stop here and explain about the bed. Cindy and Keith have spared no expense to make your sleep memorable and possibly the best you've ever had. I mean Scandia down mattress topper, with a Scandia comforter and microfiber Comphy sheets. I can't explain it, but you'll wanna buy that bed before you leave.
The next morning, all subsequent mornings for that matter, Keith would come up about thirty minutes or so before our agreed upon breakfast time, and we'd chat. Soon after Cindy would arrive to put the finishing touches together. Their breakfast is a full on three or four course ordeal and they fittingly take pride in their culinary skills. One of the surprising delights though, was talking to them both. They are fun, laid back and have some great stories to tell.
Long story short, The Inn on Campbell deserves all the accolades they get. The Inn on its own, would get 5 stars. But the service (they actually leave port, ferrero roche, and espresso for you to enjoy anytime) and the innkeepers themselves, set this destination apart. We will be back. Oh and by the way, with Cindy's help we got that bed!

WOW! We are left breathless with your wonderful review!!! We are just so glad we could make you both so happy and comfortable! We would love to hear from you when you get a chance how you are liking your "Campbell Bed". I bet the Texas Tavern misses your morning visits! Take care to you both and we hope you have another excuse to come back and let us pamper you and have some great conversation!

The Inn on Campbell truly sets itself apart from any other I've ever experienced. Cindy and Keith are dedicated to offering their guests a perfect experience. They are a delightful couple and really made us feel so special. Never have I stayed anywhere before where there were so many charming "extras" every time I turned around. Cindy spent many years in an upscale hospitality capacity and it definitely shows. We felt like celebrities! The Inn was immaculate, the food scrumptious, and the ambiance splendid. Within blocks, downtown Roanoke has plenty to offer in terms of gourmet food, a beautiful farmer's market, and entertainment for people of all ages. I have stayed in many of the various upscale chain hotels craving, but not always receiving, a special experience. I can say without a doubt that The Inn on Campbell will give you the special experience that we all crave when we need an escape from the daily grind.

Thank you so much for your review! We know that it takes time to do this but we have found that it helps the future guest so much when they are making their selection of where to stay. Being that you are familiar with downtown Roanoke pleases us so much that we are able to provide a place that you feel that you can escape to right in your own backyard. Thanks again and we hope we get to have you stay with us again and again!

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the Inn on Campbell and had a great time. Keith and Cindy are great hosts and very welcoming from the moment you arrive. We loved the wine and cheese and the great conversation! Breakfast was wonderful and the room was perfect. Can't wait to get back for a visit. Thanks for a memorable experience!

Room Tip: Any room at the Inn would be great!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for one night as a midway point from Tennesse to Maryland. We have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before so it was a different experience, a nice one though. Cindy and Keith are very welcoming from the minute you arrive. Cindy even made a dinner reservation for us at the Lucky. Very yummy food and cocktails. Cindy gave us a tour of the Inn, it is a beautiful building. We stayed in the Palladian Suite. It was a huge room with a luxurious bathroom. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in building as nothing was left untouched. It is super clean! Breakfast in the morning, cooked by Keith, was delicious! We would definately come back if we were passing back through the area.

We needed somewhere special to stay for new years eve on our way north and Roanoke seemed to be the largest city on our route and the inn the only one downtown. We were more than happy -- we were astounded at how nice the accommodations are. Cindy and Keith put the experience over the top by adding a true welcoming touch with easy conversation, enthusiasm, and delicious food. I don't think we could have found a better spot to ring in the new years! This was not only the best bed and breakfast I've stayed at, but the nicest room I've ever stayed in.

We immediately felt welcome when we met Keith and Cindy, the innkeepers, and saw the room and common area furnishings, décor, and many details they provide to pamper you. The evening wine and cheese welcome they hosted provided the opportunity to chat, learn about the area, and get recommendations for great places for dinner. We enjoyed coffee and a wonderful breakfast, talking with our hosts and other guests. The inn location allows for walking to galleries, museums, shops, restaurants. We really appreciated their accommodating our changes in travel plans due to the storm the week of our visit! We will definitely stay at this inn again when our travels take us to or near Roanoke!

I have stayed @ B & B in Charlottesville, Lexington, Richmond, Christiansburg, Floyd and Ashville,NC and w/out a doubt none compared to the Inn on Campbell. They truly left 'no stone unturned' - the bedding, decor, breakfasts. The bathroom was lit so well and it even had a 'lighted' makeup mirror. Cindy and Keith - they were the best!!! Felt like we had known them for years! It was a fantastic stay and looking forward to staying there again!
