“Dissappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We had heard about the restaurant on the Blacksburg NPR station and were looking forward to eating there. The menu on the window advertised soup which sounded great on a cold day. However there was "no soup today". The inside menu was hand written on a blackboard under poor lighting and was very hard to read. Our salads were supposed to come with French bread but no bread was served. When I asked about it, I was told "we have not had any French bread for a month". They gave us something that was suppossed to be Cibata but it just tasted like a regular roll to us. After we left, we saw a bakery just around the corner selling French bread. We wished we had eaten there instead.

“move over Starbucks and Dunkin ...you have been replaced with MILL MOUNTAIN COFFEE!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

as a road warrior I know all the Starbucks and Dunkin in every town but am always looking for the hidden local gems of the Coffee Shop World and I found the MOST PERFECT place here in Roanoke. I stumbled on this Starkey Road location early on a Sunday morning and what a treat! The staff was wonderful, polite and very helpful with great smiles and happy to be there unlike some places where everyone acts like they hate their jobs. The coffee is EXCELLENT and the warm cinnamon muffin was perfect. You will not be disappointed in this place if you are a true coffee lover.

“Consistent quality, nice ambiance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012 via mobile

Had a business meeting today - arrived without eating lunch. At the counter I "closed my eyes" and ordered their quesadillas. Turned to be a great choice. Very delicious. Only problem was it was too much for a 66 year old senior citizen to eat for one meal! Meal with a large coffee came to about $10. I could have shared the meal with a partner.

I'm a stickler for straight traditional black coffee, to the dismay of the ever ready barristers. But their coffee is always fresh, rich and robust, no matter which blend you request.

Mill Mountain Coffee offers free WiFi, just ask for the password (thanksforyourorder was today's secret word).

Mill Mountain Coffee is one of the long time survivors in the downtown market area. You'll never go wrong, at any time of the day, by stopping in for coffee, dessert, or a light meal. The clientele changes by the time of day, but you'll always feel comfortable in this slightly eclectic coffee shop.

“Local Coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

My husband and I like to take a trip out to the virginia mountains once a year. We always stop at Mill Mountain Coffee in downtown Roanoke, usually before or after shopping on Market Street. They have yummy coffee and breakfast goodies too. We always get a breakfast sandwich and pastry. Staff is always helpful, joyous, and equipped with a good sense of humor. Love supporting local coffee joints!
