“Great place to stay in a redeveloping area of Roanoke”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

Great hotel and great price. There were 2 girls teenage softball teams there and we never knew it because the room are laid out with the bed far from the door to the hall. The $ 9.50 breakfast buffet was picked over by the time we got up. (Those were some hungry girls!) But nearby was Famous Anthony's with Sat breakfast until noon. very nice. We ate dinner at Fork in the Alley (close to Anthony's in a quiet neighborhood) wonderful brick over pizza and fantastic selection of Hot dogs. The locals all eat there.

Stayed a single night and the Cambria Suites on a drive from Washington to Nashville. Pleased to report that it lived up to its TA billing. Helpful, friendly reception was welcoming - room was excellent; we had a King suite with sofa bed - very comfortable and spacious for two adults and two teenagers. Very good bathroom, two TVs, wifi etc etc all excellent. Used the pool and gym which were both surprisingly large and the latter very modern and well equipped. First class value at $122 for the night. Only disappointment was the hot buffet breakfast which we'd intended to take - unfortunately it looked tired and dried out (we were not late down) - so we passed. Strongly recommend this hotel.

We bought this as an unnamed Hotwire deal and were very happy as our second consecutive hotel win on our cross-country trip. Very new, easy to get up from the elevators from the (free) parking lot. Our suite was separated into a comfortable bed area with a big-screen TV, and a sitting area with couches and a *second* big-screen TV. No complaints at all.

There's a nice coffee bar in the lobby - I checked in on Facebook Places and got a free latte.

This newest (to me) addition to the Choice/Clarion family of hotels was a great find in Roanoke. The room was spacious, quiet, clean, with a large bathroom--plus a suite layout that gave my son some privacy when my son wanted to work with his computer. There was also parking under the building for more security (and shade--it was nearly 100!). You can order room service although the hotel is close to an area of Roanoke with boutique dining as well. It's not close to I-81 but easy to find on the ring road off the interstate.

I reviewed this earlier and checked off the rating as terrible INCORRECTLY this is an excellent hotel with great rooms and staff!! We have stayed for the Commonwealth Games two years in a row and love the location just minutes from downtown Roanoke but soooo much quieter. The rooms are very comfortable especially with the pull out queen sofa w/ flatscreen tv for my son separated from the bedroom at a very reasonable cost!

We decided to go a different route home from Hilton Head and it took us right through here as a halfway point. Since this was really just a stop over, we just needed a clean, comfortable place to stay for the night that was not expensive. This exactly meets the bill. The two tvs were a big plus after a long day of travel. No one had to sacrifice. I noticed bike rentals which I thought was just really neat and would have liked another day to stay here and enjoy the sites in the area. And the beds ... thanks goodness for finally a comfortable bed - the first on the last night of our trip!

I saved 30 dollars a night using hotwire.com. I didn't know it was this hotel until I checked out on the site. All I knew was that the hotel we chose was the number 1 hotel in Roanoke and I agree!

We were a family of four. We ended up with a handicap room which made no difference. The room was huge. There are two tvs. One in the "living room" section that includes the pull out couch (for the kids). Another tv in front of the king size bed. There is a desk area for your laptop. They have enough outlets for your cell phone, laptop charger, cell charger, ipod, or ipad. Free internet which is great. The bathroom was huge which is great when you have kids and they need help with their baths. The bathrooms included bath and body work products (lotion, shampoo, and conditioner). Also if you forget something like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream etc.. Just call the front desk and they have complimentary ones. The bed was soo comfortable (pillow top bed) and lots of pillows! The room also included a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The curtains were thick enough to keep the room so dark. We slept like babies with no sun peering in. The room was great! Floor 1 includes the pool, jacuzzi, food court, and fitness area. The indoor pool was fun for the kids. It's only 4 feet. The towels are available in the pool area.

When you first get there pull up to the front to check in. They give you a door key that you will use to access the door from the garage and to access the pool area. Once you check in then you will drive to the garage located under the hotel which is nice when it's real hot or to avoid the rain.

We had a positive experience at this hotel. We didn't take advantage of the food area or order food service, but it was nice to have it there.

The only negative thing was there was no fan in the bathroom.

We plan to use this hotel every time we visit Roanoke!
